PC Upgrade Question

Hi guys,

My system is struggling to play Skyrim maxxed and I want to upgrade it over time by spending about £200 a month. I've posted my specs below. Please can you recommend the order in which I should upgrade and some reccomendations? I'm not really a techie and will be getting a local guy to do the work. Please bear in mind I'm in the UK so what may be cheap in the USA may be very expensive in Ireland :)

Thanks!

@StratGuy, i think most people would advise you your ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series 7.7 w/1GB VRAM

would be the first item to upgrade; maybe, followed by a fast mechanical or solid state drive (SSD).

1GB VRAM may be thrashing memory (2GB would be better) if you're truly running maxxed out with

lots of HD textures at high resolution.

I think the recommended Skyrim setting for the 5800 is 'high' not 'ultra'; but, not sure about this.

Since your willing to spend that amount per month, then I would suggest first buying a really good Radeon card. A good HD 6850 from XFX is right around 200 I think, but then again I'm going my USD and not Euros, so yeah. What ever that amount in dollars translate to in Euros. But I would spend that chunk of money per month on one part each.
