CTD on loading a save near Lake Ilinalta

so, as the title say, my game is crashing to desktop when I load a save near Lake Ilinalta, I have no idea what is going on I have tried to figure it out on my own idk maybe I am missing something obvious, if I could get some help please that would be nice, I have tried quite a few thing including a save without any mod player homes near lake ilinalta and still nada, no idea whats wrong, masters are clean, latest LOOT update sorted, masters sorted, it all should be working fine but it doesnt and I dont know why.

^my load order for anyone that wants to see it. Fair warning, its a hefty load order and does have adult content in it (all of which I know is working properly)

 

p.s. so yes I just noticed 3 inactive mods in the load order, i'm a activate them and try again though i doubt its them since its just vivid weathers and it was not raining

you COULD try FallrimTools, and have it clean the savegame for you, since it already CTDs anyway, it's pretty much lost at this point.

I am overburdened but I have never had an issue with that, do you think thats what it is? I will use it but I have a save file that is over near falkreath that loads just fine so its kinda redundant, let me try unloading until I am not over burdened and I will let you know how it goes (thank god i have the bag of holding mod installed because none of what I have, I want to throw away)

p.s. vivid weathers being activated did nothing to change it

What did you do between the last save that loads fine and the first one that crashes? I am asking this not with regard to your game and mod installation but your actual in-game progress (quests, sites visited, new items picked up...).

I once had a broken save after taking the torch from Hrodulf's house on Solstheim. For an unknown reason, every save with this torch in my inventory was leading to a CTD on any loading attempt. It didn't crash immediatly while I was playing, so I had to play about 2.5 hours again from the last working save. I still have no idea what was wrong with that torch.

I walked from falkreath to where Lake Haven manor would be on the map (modded player home) killed a skooma dealer (the second time I tried when I actually made the closer save so I dont have to walk slowly the whole way) and a skeever, and just to make things clear if I go to falkreath or a little way from that spot and save & load nothing happens not CTD at all, but if I save at that spot and load it CTD's, its not the player home as it happens with or without it their... hmm I wonder if it happens inside a loaded space aka in the player home, let me check. by yea Shabdez to answer your question I pretty much just walked there. nothing special, no dungeon runs, no in game progress, no new sites, no special items, even if I have the same items and go back to falkreath it saves and loads just fine.

Likely a missing mesh. I'd try disabling mods you know are editing that cell like maybe flora overhaul & any others editing the cell & see if you can narrow it down that way. You could use SSEEdit to figure out which mods edit that cell, cell name should be something like, llinalta's Deep Exterior, found by expanding skyrim esm in xedit & going to locations. Then disable those mods and anything that depends on those mods (including your patches, (just for testing), load the save and travel to that cell. If it's fixed you narrowed it to those mods.

welp I cannot find it, BUT I jsut noticed that the SL framework is in fact updated to the latest version, time to update all my mods YAY I can finally play the latest version again. was annoying because it hadn't updated for a little while after 1.5.39 then I stopped playing and am just checking it now so im going to update everything then start a new game and see how that goes.

 

on a side note that I just found when updating my mods, I had no idea that 1.5.39 was the most pirated version, I just kept using it until my mods were all able to update, huh makes me feel dirty to be using the save version as pirates, and I shouldnt, not only have I bought the game, but I have bought it 3 times, twice for myself (the first time my little brother connected my game to HIS steam account without letting me get any info about connecting it to steam) the second so I could own a copy on MY steam account and the 3rd was a gift for a friend XD. anyhow back to the trouble shooting, I have a feeling this updating of all my mods to the latest version will sort it out, might have to uninstall the whole game, delete my skyrim folder and reinstall though because I have noticed that NMM doesn't do a good job at removing all applicable files from the game folder when removing a mod. what do you all think? should I uninstall and reinstall just in case or keep as is?

I would first go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition & delete the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files & game saves. Then I'd open the steam folder from it's location & delete appcache. Then go to steam site & verify game files, which will give you latest version, & then go to silverlock and get latest SKSE64, install & create shortcut. Follow the cleaning guides for the masters. Start the game to create ini's & then do whatever, like adding mods , run Loot, make a bashed patch.
I noticed you did a merged patch & a bashed patch in your last game & I'd NOT make the merged patch with SSEEdit.

Don't forget to update mods like racemenu to work with latest SKSE64.

I personally see no reason to re-download game

from scratch.
