Deleted47182198User
To the modders and mod-users of Skyrim who AREN'T idiots: I have a problem. Okay, or maybe not a problem (it's not earth-shattering or anything but it IS annoying) but more of a question I'd like help with. I've been playing Skyrim forever, but only recently decided to add screenshots. Hard to believe, I know, but there it is. Anyways, beside the combat screenshots - which by all means are perfect on their own - I've been wanting to use Halo's Poser, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it work. Yes, I read every single readme in the 7zip archive. Yes, I scoured the internet for help. Yes, I watched videos and read help forums (but none of these helped because they were all for older versions of it) but I cannot get it to work no matter what I do. I know Halo's Poser is supposed to be installed manually, and yes, I've manually installed mods before (who hasn't?) and yes, I also know you can't add it to NMM, but even when I extract the archive like I'm supposed to (or how I think I'm supposed to), while FNIS recognizes it, it doesn't show up anywhere in my Skyrim/Data folder, and not in the data files section of the Skyrim launcher, either. So, in conclusion to this long-winded explanation of my complete inability to understand what's probably perfectly understandable instructions, I could really use help from anyone that could give me a short - or long, if necessary - explanation as to how to get this to work. Any help at all would be appreciated, and to anyone sitting at their keyboard reading this and thinking, âwho the f**k is this stupid? âallow me to help you out: it's me. It's always me. Deleted47182198User
Okay, see, this is great, except for one thing: I understand all of those steps...EXCEPT for how to install Halo. I literally understand every single step you just listed except for the one that's kind of needed in order to make it work. So. Let me idiot-proof myself even further. What I need to know: After downloading Halo, how do I actually INSTALL it? I'm probably going to be using the ring version, but I guess in this case the version doesn't matter, because either one you choose gets installed to the same place. So by this I mean, where do the files GO? And if I'm right that they go in the Skyrim/Data folder, then why on earth are they showing up and being read by FNIS but not by Skyrim itself? Seriously, I know this is probably moronic and I'm struggling with something a toddler could probably do given instructions, but at this point, I think I need like a tutorial video or something. Because clearly I'm a lot dumber than I thought I was.
TheGreatFalro
When you download it, you get "Halo'sPoser.7z", right? Extract that whole thing into a temporary folder, like a folder on your desktop. Then open that folder and open the folder called "00 - Normal Version". Inside are three folders, "textures", "scripts", and "meshes", as well as a file called Halo's Poser.esp. Copy those four items as they are and paste them into Skyrim/Data. Do not take anything out of the folders, just paste them as they are. Overwrite if asked. Then run FNIS and you should be good to go.
jucoking
Is there a difference running FNIS from FNIS.exe and running it from Vortex?
TheGreatFalro
Is there a difference running FNIS from FNIS.exe and running it from Vortex? In general, you should always run it through Vortex. Technically there should be no difference, but why create a chance for problems to arise?

I'm so sorry this took so long (s#*! in life happens and you get distracted) but I did exactly what you said and it worked. Thank you for idiot-proofing this for me, you are the best. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (Also, I'm glad it worked, because it would have been really embarrassing if I needed to have it dumbed down even further. Okay, not embarrassing. Sad.) =)
