r5r4y, lol, yes i agree with you, sounds of skyrim dungeons+wilds ambient sound effects were and

still are a very welcome awesome addition to my skyrim game immersion, Georgiegril's right, its too quiet with out it.

I am still running both of them with no issues, these are the earlier versions without PEX scripts and

are included in your list of download links.

Go ahead and install them, i doubt you'll have any trouble, there are only ESP and WAV files in them,

only download these, stay away from any of the other stuff listed in your links.

DO NOT install these (buggy PEX scripts):

Sounds_of_Skyrim_-_Civilization_1_0_Full_Version-20193-1-0.zip (CONTAINS BAD PEX SCRIPTS).

Sounds_of_Skyrim_-_The_Dungeons_1_2_1_Update-8601-1-21.zip (CONTAINS BAD PEX SCRIPTS).

i apologize for the 'why take a chance' comment earlier, was just trying to look out for you for some reason lol.

the modder 'Cliffworms' (who i appreciate and respect) did not actually say he was stopping work on the mod,

read what he has to say yourself in this mod forum thread:

So is this problem only with SoS-Civilization? Would you say it's safe to install The Wilds and Dungeons without any problems?

yes yes yes. read the thread. this thread is going around in circles, the same questions get discussed again and again

You actually gave links to Sounds_of_Skyrim_-_The_Dungeons_1_2_1_Update-8601-1-21.zip, with the scripts. I installed it by accident then uninstalled and installed the version without the scripts. Lucky I didn't load the save with the scripts.

So far everything works, using Dawnguard + Project Reality CoT and several other mods, save game size is about 7.30MB.

Joining the long list http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif. In advance thanks for putting the instructions at the beginning of the thread posted by xlcr. I was reading the messenges all the way down here.

This afternoon, decided to run BOSS, and voila!

Following message appeared as many have seen in BOSS log:

"Warning: The Sounds of Skyrim collection have been causing a lot of bugs and corrupting saves, even when removed and caused stuttering."

In short, that's why I decided to delete these mods, much to my regret, cause I find it great (The atmosphere, the immersion generated was really awesome). Like many around (again) have the "bloating" saved games. Previously had this problem with the saves when remained for some time (around 15 minutes) in the vampire lord form (after some feeding and stuff, the saves reach 50mb and then CTD, might have some relation, I do not know, not much of anything really), so chooses not to use that form (Sadly).:geek:

That's why I started to suspect some installed mods (Around 2 weeks ago), finally, that dialogue in BOSS rekindled my suspicions (yesterday). Anyway I do not want to add more confusion. I follow the procedure, and then, the saves start to bloat (again at an alarming rate: from 15 mb to 50mb in 2 minutes, then CTD). I have left SoS Civilization activated for now, at least, with that mod activated (via NMM) don't have the saves issues. This the first problem encounter after aprox. 1200+ hours of game between three characters. That it for now, thanks again for the instruccions and reading this (If someone does). Skyrim never be the same without this great mods, hope Cliffworms finds a solution to this problem, sure they'll found it.

Ps. Sorry for my English, isn't my mother language

Here is the situation. I have done some significant testing last night and I have come to a conclusion.

If you have Sounds of Skyrim installed and are not experiencing save game bloat, DO NOT TOUCH IT. You are stuck with it until a fix is released. DO NOT run the "Startquest" commands either, as disabling one or more of the sound files will also cause save game bloat; even if you don't uninstall the mod.

I tested my 152 hour save last night. Starting save file size: 15,308kb. Here are my results:

-Ran "Startquest" and disabled the Tavern Ambiance sounds. Did not uninstall anything. Next save file jumped up to 21,321kb. FAILED.

-Ran "Startquest" and disabled all the sounds for all 3 modules. Ran "Stopquest" on all 3 modules. Saved. Next file size jumped up to 20,176kb. Removed the .esp files, sound files and script files from the Data folder. Ran the game, played for 2 minutes and saved again. Next file size jumped to 29,023kb. FAILED.

-Left everything alone. Next 20 saves all with approximately 5 minutes of gameplay between remained 15mb with ~100kb fluctuations.

So there you have it. Now we wait for Cliffworms.

You really do not need to add this, your English is lovely.

You should be able to run SOS The Wilds without any issues, it has never been associated with the bloat problem.

I try SoS Wilds(v1.0.1) and Dungeons (v1.1, non-scripted), my file size is fine (my file save is only 6.7mb, never increase again to greater number in a minute). but I will not try Civilizations because have scripts

to Cliffworms

please show SoS Wilds and Dungeons again, because your mod is awesome. the problem is for scripted version, not non-scripted version

Surely it shouldn't take this long for the mod author to release a patched-up version of the mod. It's been a month, and most of you guys have already identified what the problems are (scripted versions?) When I saw this mod on youtube I was really excited to download it, but then realised it'd been taken down. Been checking everyday for updates but none have arrived. It's a real shame it hasn't been fixed as of yet

Any mod is a gift. Cliffworms owes us nothing, rather, we owe Cliffworms a great deal of gratitude for making a mod which is such an improvement and also has no replacement, at least not at the moment. I sincerely hope the author will either take back up the reins or pass the torch (to mix metaphors shamefully) but ultimately that is the author's decision.
