antstubell
Hi all.I navmeshed by hand an exterior cell which didn't work so I went back to see what the problem was. I know that you have to drag the meshes as close as posible to the cell boundry and I did this pretty well but followers wouldn't cross. Back in CK I messed around a bit with the mesh making sure it was as close as it posible could be, raising/lowering edges/nodes and tried again - still no luck. More messing around and I noticed that on a cell I was messing with blocks appeared (screenshot) between a few cells. Back in game followers would cross these cells that had blocks on their edges problem is I have no idea what I did to make it work and I can't seem to do it with the other cell boundries. What did I do and what can I do to make cell boundries connect? Can't attach screenshot upload keeps failing - try in a edited or 2nd post.

antstubell
Use imgur, imageshack, photobucket or dropcanvas to share images. Please post the solution in case someone searches the forums with the same problem Sorry, of course. This is my 1st attempt at an exterior cell and I applied the same principle for meshing as I have done for interior cells. Oops - things are not that simple. With interior cells you're usually working with 1 cell, an exterior cell covers multiple cells and the mesh has to interconnect. I did this once before but only added a small piece of mesh. I meshed by hand because its tidier and dragged my mesh edges as close as posible to cell boundaries, press B to see them. I kept meshing the entire world, dragging to edges all the time, when completed I clicked finalize navmesh and thought I was done. Nope. In game follower stopped at edge of first boundary. Puzzled I went back to CK and by acident realised I had to finalize each individual cell, only then would they connect. You know when your cells are connected because green blocks like kerbstones (sidewalk rises) appear along the boundaries.Viola - done.

flobalob
Yes, I have a bigger problem got a castle floating over the ocean. Can't upload images just get error message When you convert the screenshot to jpeg format try lowering the quality to ensure the file is less that 250k, I ususlly drop the quality down to 45% for screenshots.
