theodorercarter
Proposition: Add a download link for the mod directly to the right of the author's username. I download a huge number of mods; every week or two I download all the new "top mods," but I am becoming increasingly sick of how much time this takes. Having to open all the main mod pages in new tabs, go to downloads, download all the mainfiles, yet another new window for every file download... Seems tedious to me, and like a lot of extra work. Seems like the whole thing could be condensed to one step: click "download." Users could click a little drop-down button that would display a condensed view of all the "Main file" and "optional" download links that are displayed on the download page on the mod's main page and could start the download quickly from there, there being the page listing mods. That or the single download link could start the download for every Main and optional file. This is very similar to the setup at "Download.com," search for a program and right next to everything that comes up there's a nice big button that says "download now." Simple, easy, and (best of all) fast. This is an ease of use thing, overall I think it would save a lot of manhours, but I don't know how difficult it would be to implement... Then again, maybe I'm the one who gets irritated having to jump through page after page to download...
Deleted1848331User
I haven't found it a problem to just click the tab after reading the description and such (like you really should if you're downloading that many mods :P Just to make sure nothing would be incompatible with each other.) Besides that, you still have to look through all the files anyways. In all honesty it's really not that much of an inconvenience at all.
Dark0ne
The inherent issue is that plenty of mods have more than 1 file that you need to download in order for the mod to work. It's also a matter of slowing down the process a little so that people actually bother to read the description which can contain pertinent information in regards to installation, compatibility and known issues. Making it easier to do "blind" downloads seems counter-productive in this regard.
