Can a character preset be changed mid game ?

Hi,

I've recently started to play Fallout 4 again after a long period. A lot has changed since with Vortex for example. Trying to get to grips with modding again. The Joys & pains all in one. Planning to mod this game as far as vortex & my hardware will allow me.

Simple question really. I'm using a lot of character appearance mods. I'm using the looks menu mod. I Have a few character presets installed. I've started a new game using a character preset.

Is there any method of changing to a different character preset later in game or will I be stuck with this one ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

yea you can change the preset any time

simply open the console by pressing the tilde key and type: showlooksmenu player

then simply click on presets and switch,

1 thing to note about doing this however is, this can cause the infamous colour mismatch bug, a simple game reload usually fixes it however.

Note: you can also use slm 14 as the console command as well, which is a quicker way to load the looksmenu

welcome :)

also if you feel like your going to be changing your preset a lot, their is also an even quicker way of doing this.

simply create a text document, add showlooksmenu player in the text document, give the text document a very small name like: test for example

then place it in your fallout 4 root folder, now every time you feel like changing the preset, simply open console, and type: bat test

the above will then load any console command written in the text document entitled test

you can put multiple commands in the text document, and it will load them all in a single command ;)

Awesome stuff. That is great to know.

I can continue my new game knowing I will able to have a facelift when ever I feel the need.

This game looks so much better than the last time I played it. Few hardware upgrades & the likes of more HD mods available has made a world of difference.

Need to do some more mod hunting & see what is on offer to make the ultimate playthrough. Wanna try & make my NPC settlers the most beautiful in the commonwealth. So many mods to choose from. Need to find the perfect body texture.

I highly Recommend the 8K realistic Skin texture (by TyperTm) for CBBE (this will give females very high quality skin textures.) if you have the power to run it (its actually pretty light weight considering the UHD) in my experience

I have it installed & running with no problems. Great skin textures.
