DragonbornGaming
Well i figured out the error 51 problem,it was because of my NVIDIA graphics card,i had to disable it to run Skyrim, but it has to run on low quality, and froze before i even got to Helgen. So i was wondering if anyone has a workaround so i can still run NVIDIA to play Skyrim.I can't rollback drivers tho. It's a NVIDIA GeForce GT 635MDriver Version 8.17.12.8598. any help would be appreciated.

Georgiegril
You may have Nvidia card update installation problems. It may solve your problem to read this link and follow the instructions exactly. NVidia changed their updating procedures but didn't really get the word out (it's all in the readme of their card download to, but no one ever reads readmes as we all know. It's an EVGA link, but it is not specific to EVGA-manufactured NVidia cards, it is for any NVidia card.

I do have Nvidia control panel and nviewer and can't get rid of them either.... HELP!!!!! someone just shoot me..... What am I missing... and Yes!!! I am computer stupid..... well I should say I know enough to be dangerous (to myself more than others)
Georgiegril
When you uninstall, are you trying to do this through Windows Driver update or by using the uninstall a program or by removing the file from your file folder? Do not use the driver update feature of windows. Did you remember to disable Windows Automatic Update before trying to uninstall? If not, Windows will go crazy and try to take over control of your computer in order to give you the driver updates it thinks you need. There is a gigantic amount of information on that link, and the instructions seem excessively meticulous, so it is kinda easy to overlook a step. Maybe go back through and try again extra slow? The good part is after you figure it out you will not ever be able to call yourself computer stupid again! If none of those suggestions work, post back. Actually if they do work, post back, it's good to know what works!
Hawkefire
I think windows auto update was most of the problem....I thought I had it disabled but it was still doing its thing.... checked and it was active.... found out that my computer ( I had built at the local computer shop) installed most of the drivers for the motherboard from Nvidia. so when I was deleting programs from control panel add / remove programs menu, I accidently deleted some pretty important drivers.... screwed up my whole system. couldn't get on internet, lost my coprocessor, and a few other rather important thing... Like I said... I'm computer stupid.... finally got it working again by going through all the loading wizards with my motherboard disk and it brought it back.... wheww... Thank you for your help and support.... I think I will have that Nvidia HD sound driver looked at (and/or removed) when I take my machine in for its yearly checkup / tune up next month.... so will live with the intermittent crashes and bugs until then.... I'm 62 years old and my inivative thinking (learning) is starting to wane... (or so I am told...) I chalk it up to plain laziness myself... Thank you again for the great help and support....you are great Georgiegril..... Edited July 23, 2012 by Hawkefire
