remove crossbows

This really bothers me. You have no problem with the sliding rock walls, or the fact the people are using magic, but crossbows are too advanced?

(by the way, there ARE robots, they are called dwemer constructs)

This is a ridiculous request.

Fix'd.

Its silly, but not totally ridiculous.

Cross Bows have been around for a very long time. They are not a new development at all, Crossbows were one of the next few weapons developed after the Bow itself was made.

So in a world filled with steampunk/magitech Dwemer constructs and sliding rock walls with working levers, pulleys, and switches, and lets not forget magic in general, might I ask how a mere crossbow ruins it for you?

And since we're talking a late Roman Empire kinda setting, you should see the kind of crossbow-like thing the Romans had come up with. It was basically a miniature torsion ballista, not a bow on a stock. Also the arms were towards the inside, so the angle of the string segments was actually very accute, and most of the force went into moving the bolt forwards. AND here comes the kicker, apparently they figured out how to shoot lead balls with it, at speeds comparable with what early guns would do some 1500 years later. They had quite ingenious people, and once they had the formulas and tables compiled for scaling torsion catapults, calculating a scaled down one was a quite trivial affair.

Actually, that reminds me that a sweet Deadric Magicka Powered burst repeating crossbow would be awesome. Just saying, we all need an edge against the modified hordes Skyrim! It could be the "To Crossbow or not to Crossbow. That is the Question!" MOD.
