So I wanted to play New Vegas with mods and I downloaded the NMC's textures and I keep running on up with this problem and I really don't understand it at all. I thought I needed to buy fall out 3, but my friends tell me that's crazy talk to buy a game to make other mods work. Idk could you guys help me im lost and I got a glimpse of this game with this mod and I love it. (Sorry for caps but after I finished the first sentence I just kept it going) thank you very much

If you a legit copy of the game you shouldn't have issue with modding said game. exactly what type of problem are you running into?

Yeah, I'm afraid "this problem" is also a case of "don't understand".

Please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as if you are using a "regional language version" of the game; using the FNV4GB Patch, NVSE and it's related plugins; replacements for textures (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), animations, or "bodies", etc.; and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX. It saves us playing "20 questions" and gets you a more specific answer more quickly. (The usual turn-around on post and reply in an older game forum is 24 hours.)

* See "How to markup images (etc) in forum posts and comments" article for how to use "Spoiler tags".

I recommend you read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to mod FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so.

If you add any VWD/LOD textures (such as NMC or Ojo Bueno), please see the 'Checklist Item #15 & 16' entries in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide regarding the need to run both TES4LL and FNVLODGen. Also recommend you read the 'LOD/VWD Texture Packs' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article first.

There are a couple of places where you can get started using the game and adding mods.

First, even though this was written for FO3, it applies to both games: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you

Also: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/FNV_General_Mod_Use_Advice

Which NMC Texture Pack did you download? Was it this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43135
