Glenn1234
Hi.Today i've checked my mail and noticed thaht i recived scam mail...with my Nexus password in it :ermm: .(sent week ago)It was in spam folder -standard crap like: we've got access to your Facebook, email accounts and camera, send 1000$ in bitcoin, blah blah blah.Well,s***-seems i'm lucky because i don't have any cam nor FB profile :tongue:Anyway-virus scan gave no results(ESET) and this was the only email like that i had in all my mail accounts-refering to Nexus.So...did anyone else had to deal with this kind of situation?Maybe site admins can tell me something more, because it seems that somebody has access to Nexus users database...Thanks Edited January 25, 2019 by Glenn1234
Dark0ne
We had a database leak back in July of 2013 which exposed the email addresses, usernames and encrypted passwords of users who were registered before that date. As your account was registered before July 2013, unfortunately, your details will have been included in this leak. You can find more information about the leak here: www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12675/ Since it has now been a substantial amount of time since the leak, we believe the password hashes have now been cracked and these are being used for phising and blackmail emails. You can safely ignore these emails (and report them as necessary) but please ensure you have updated your password, and also changed it on any other sites on which you were using it. I apologise for the inconvenience caused.
