SheerShaw
You know, I've never seen anyone bashing Giskard, well, until he started getting defensive. Then people simply retaliated. It started when ElministerEU cleaned KA with TES4Edit, and Giskard got really peeved at that....he never admitted that there were dirty references in KA (AKA Things included in mods that are identical to Oblivion, but copied into the mod. This causes a few problems, such as larger file size and incompabilty with anything that loads before KA and edits something it copies.)

I've only ever heard of it from the many, many, many references to it that Giskard makes. If it happens then that is not fair of these small-minded folks but I would be big enough to ignore it and instead remember all of the praise and thanks the MAJORITY of folk give but that's just me. *shrug*
SheerShaw
He seems to be the one doing the bashing...he called ElministerEU a flamer and a "noob who couldn't even make a house mod." Elminister only made a cleaned up patch...and the original KA readme said he was given permission to. I don't see how that was insulting, as Elminister obviously liked the mod, he just wanted to clean it up... Giskard has also bashed the FCOM team, the Better Cities Team, the Unique Landscapes team multiple times.

First of all it is not the patch elmister made, but the way he described it's patch that was totally rude. That is why he was forced to completely rewrite everything about the patch he made. Is there a reason you people keep dragging old feuds ?? Let it rest.
Ethre
Is there a reason you people keep dragging old feuds ?? Actually, for better or worse, I think Giskard himself "dragged" this stuff up by leaving.
midniteinc
Pity You stopped sharing these mods, I really liked them, didn't find a bug whatsoever (no matter what people say) And I can understand your not liking it when people are flaming your work. However..... If you're still going to put work in these and future mods, and not release them you are punishing a lot of people who made TEC the top ranking mod of August. I have downloaded nearly any mod you made and would continue to do so, but I guess you're happy putting weeks worth of work in a mod and sharing them with only a few people (I would consider it a waste of my time but I guess you don't) and i respect that So all that is left for me to say is thanks for the nice modsgood luck with you're work and hopfully you'll reconsider (but i'm not counting on it) Just a small point, Giskards private community actually consit of more than "a few people", people who i might add are willing to help test or contribute in some way to his mods. Like anybody who has freedom of will he has the right to withdraw his mods from the public and do with them what ever he likes. Maybe if some more people had reported these flamers to the moderators rather than posting comments at these forums Giskard would still be sharing his mods. Let the man be afterall its the communitys loss not his. maybe next time people will be a bit more supportive of the next great modder that comes along before this cabal of modders dissapear. midniteinc
Ethre
he has the right to withdraw his mods from the public and do with them what ever he likes. Actually, I do not know that you're right on that. When you release something to the public domain, I don't think you have to right to recall it from the public domain. You cannot go back and retroactively change the terms you release mods under - that defeats the entire purpose of a license. Of course, I think I will quote his readme's license agreement:No mod maker licience means squat so.... But anyway, I think its perfectly legal to upload and redistribute his mods, even though he has removed the copies he put up.

Who the hell are the "flamers?" Most people are complimenting his mods, or giving constructive criticism, or reporting errors, the latter of the tow which he seems to not be able to handle. I've never seen anyone flame giskard, well, until he started being a drama queen, then people started attacking him.

The modder has EVERY right to withdraw their mods if they wish. Being a product of their own hard work and effort, it is still theirs to do with as they please. Modders don't have to share their work at all, and most do so out of generosity. When this generosity is then rewarded by insults, demands and other unpleasantries, it really is no wonder that some modders do end up no longer sharing. It is their right. I'm going to cast a lock spell on this for the moment until things calm down. AS (moderator)
