Nicknames, where do they come from ?

Where's the "I just made it up" option? It seems to me like that would be the option for most people.

 

Oh, my character in RPGs is Ciergul Initil, my name in FPSs and the likes is "Slaiv", which I just made up.

My character's name is Amnakiru Kalabrajada. I came up with it on my own, and I thought it was rather elegant yet enough of a warrior's name to fit well with her. Kalabrajada is the High Noble's family name for the K'ira-Qen province of Zenghiaho (a fantasy world I created in my mind).

 

As far as how I came up with the name I dunno, it just kinda came to me, but I rather like it since it's unique and would be suprised if I heard of another characters' name being it.

[Hogosha Ookami]

I use a small cariety of anmes. Hogosha Ookami is japanese for Garudian Wolf. I also use Seigi Ookami (or seigino) wich means Righteous Wolf. My morrowind name (wich is the only place i haved used this) is Beowulf, on of the greatest warriors known.

[Rune]

I've been using the name "Rune" as my main RPG character name for all RPG's since Final Fantasy 1 on NES. I have no idea why, it was too long ago.

my nickname comes from my eldest character Lucien Alexander Magius Xavier Strangeways. Of course, he has so many names besides that; I just went with the name 'Strangeways' because it's just simpler that way. He's the kind of character that collects names like other men collect holely socks.

I used the name (Russian for 'boy') for a particularly bad-tempered apprentice death-wizard in my own fantasy story 'Broken Worlds'. It is also a name used in Anthony Burgess 'Clockwork Orange' but I found that out later. The combination appealed to me as my first MW character and I just imported it when I joined the forums. I should add I am not Russian, too old to be called 'boy', the opposite of bad-tempered and not even half in love with easeful death.

Usualy I but my own name to my character in my main game but when I start

a new game I usualy just invent one like D. Arthagan, Naroya, Ijikeldin

sometimes I just randomly push puttons on keyeboard and then modyfy the

names to sound reasonable. Its My way

Most of the names I pick have a fantasy feel, despite being purely random

I needed a pseudonym (I am a writer) and so I had the idea to just write my real name backwards. Darnoc=Conrad. Then I needed also a last name, and so I just thought of something. So my whole pseudonym is "Darnoc Srajac". And my real name is Conrad Krausche.
