just an fyi.. Bethesda rolls out Skyrim patch 1.7 Beta on Steam (July 23, 2012).

Latest set of bug fixes available to PC players of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim through Steam, so long as you opt into beta patches for the game.

Patch 1.7 fixes a short list of items, and is planned for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players as well, although the timeline on release isn’t really clear just yet.

More details are available on BethBlog.

Fixed rare crash related to dragon landings

Fixed logic error with loading screens from add-ons (Xbox 360)

Using vampiric grip and swimming no longer prevents swimming animation from playing afterwards

Improved recognition with Kinect voice commands (Xbox 360)

Kinect-enabled dragon language shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish work properly (Xbox 360)

Nice, it could also mean that dawnguard is coming soon, this update might be preparing for it. I´m still hoping to see dawnguard on thursday 26 since xbox exclusivity ends.

I tried this patch, and first thing I noticed was that my Shouts were disabled (requires souls again to unlock, even though they were unlocked before)

and one of my quests apparently came back even though I already finished it (it was the last quest I did, actually) and I can't finish it after it came back in my journal

so yeah, just a heads up to anyone planning on using the Beta, I reverted back now and things are back to normal again

Make sure you have Skyrim Unplugged installed or Steam offline fellow members, just in case they decide to put this patch live....

A classic case of where you might want to use cheats, when a patch does that. While it is a beta you can revert back, once it goes live, you can't.

That's exactly what I had in mind.....It's mostly just for 'Kinect' features anyway, why would I want it.

the bugs may be bad, but memory + stability optimization is never a bad thing,

so hopefully they'll fix the bugs by the end of the beta

edit: forgot to mention, I had a CTD during that time, (and it seemed to have an error to go with it, ingame, before I crashed, but it happened alittle too quickly for me to catch what it said) it happened when I loaded a save file that uses a .ESP that I turned off (so it asked if I wanted to load the game without it or something like that

but that one, I'm not so sure if it was from 1.7 or not (though it hasn't happened to me before 1.7 so I think it may be from the patch)

I was running 1.7 Beta and had no problems at all. Quests were fine, shouts were fine, the game was running a bit smoother. Then I removed a mod that was active when the 1.7 patch was installed. I got the missing file do you want to continue message at load up. Then a warning flashed by too fast to read, I think it said something about a missing trigger. Then my game did a CTD and refused to start up even when I rolled back to 1.6. So I decided to try a save from before the mod was installed and that worked. This seems to be the same issue that Seviraph reported.

I wondered if it was the mod itself so I decided to test it as best I could. I put the mod back in and started up the game and logged in successfully. I made a new save and then logged out. Removed the mod, and logged back in, again successfully. No warnings zipping by this time. So it looks like it was 1.7. I would advise to be very cautious about installing 1.7 at this time.
