cloudpersonn
Hello. Recently I decided to reinstall FalloutNV and mod it, and it's fairly smooth so far apart from a few random crashes here and there. However, I've started the quest 'Ghost Town Gunfight' and have gathered help from almost everyone, and traveled to the gas station to tell Ringo, yet when I attempt to leave the gas station to begin the shootout, my game crashes on the loading screen, regardless of what I do. I have no idea why this happens, and have yet to find a fix. If anyone is able to help, here's my load order. dubiousintent
Anytime the game "Crashes to the Desktop" (CTD) it's typically going to generate an error message in the Windows Eventlog. Please see the "Windows Error Messages" section of the wiki "How to read most Bethesda game error logs" article. Please see the 'Common Game Problems' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. In particular see the entries about:* Steam's default install location* "Inactive plugins"* the several NVSR related fixes* CTD even with 4GB Patch installed If you add any VWD/LOD textures (such as Vurt's or Ojo Bueno), please see the 'Checklist Item #15 & 16' entries in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide regarding the need to run both TES4LL and FNVLODGen. Also recommend you read the 'LOD/VWD Texture Packs' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article first. I don't see any obvious conflicts in that "load order", but it looks a little too alphabetical for a LOOT sort. Might give that a try if you haven't as yet. -Dubious-
M48A5
You also need to uninstall the plugins you are not using. Even though they are not enabled, the loose files are still loaded into memory. Everything you have in the "Data" folder is loaded into memory everytime you start the game.
gromulos
M48A5 is 100% right also use Wrye to find out if you have any orange or red mods, if you do, those are the cause most likely
cloudpersonn
Right, so, I've deleted the two plugins that I wasn't using.I cannot seem to find any orange or red mods, however there was this warning message on Project Nevada: Rebalance. Secondly, I'm going to start a new save due to the fact that I disabled auto-save *after* I had began a new game, so I thought it'd be best to start over in-case anything was corrupted. As for the errors in event viewer, only one of them displayed the 'faulting module name', the rest displayed as 'unknown' however still told me that the 'faulting application name' was FalloutNV.exeHere's the error with the 'faulting module name' displayed. If someone could translate this that'd be great, I'm pretty alright with computers but when it starts getting like this I have no idea. Faulting application name: FalloutNV.exe, version: 1.4.0.525, time stamp: 0x4e0d50edFaulting module name: FalloutNV.exe, version: 1.4.0.525, time stamp: 0x4e0d50edException code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x00615c6eFaulting process id: 0x32f0Faulting application start time: 0x01d4bfb195c9e60fFaulting application path: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exeFaulting module path: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exeReport Id: 5259f5bc-8875-4511-aead-21a558823f0cFaulting package full name:Faulting package-relative application ID: I also installed FNVLODGen and used it.Couldn't really be arsed with moving my steam install, I doubt it'll cause too many problems anyway.Organized my load order with LOOT, too.I'll keep you guys updated, fingers crossed that this'll all work. gromulos
the project nevada thing is normal - it's an ESM with an ESP extension, ignore it Did you clean your ESM's like LOOT would have suggested? If you did and you cleaned FalloutNV.esm, that is the #1 thing you NEVER do. It will break your game EVERY single time. This also goes for Skyrim Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 as well - NEVER clean the main ESM
cloudpersonn
nope, haven't cleaned at all using LOOT.
cloudpersonn
I decided to install Wrye Flash, couldn't figure out how to use it very well even through the use of the readme, so I uninstalled it. However, one thing that caught my eye was EVE being an orange mod. The readme told me to 'anneal' it, but I couldn't figure out how to do that, so I just gave up in the end. If it's important to 'anneal' orange mods, let me know and I'll reinstall Wrye and give it another shot, however I didn't think it'd be *too* important. gromulos
follow ALL of step 2 AND Appendix 1 to fix that orange mod https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2247404-fallout-new-vegas-beginners-guide-to-modding/ It is important, Orange mods are the main culprit for game crashes Edited February 8, 2019 by gromulos
