Player graphics problem

it looks like you have something equipped that has a missing/corrupted mesh/texture/Specular,enviroment map etc etc, try unequipping all jewelry/head gear (specifically head gear, as it looks like it is coming from something that is using the headpart biped slot) and see if the problem persists.

this also happened to me when equipping the new crown from Tera armors mod (that is the crown model replacer, instead of amulets). un-equipping said crown fixed the issue.

I would agree, when you look at the ' shadow ', it looks like a sword ... so I would start by looking at mods that have new swords and/or sword texture overhauls.

I should probably create a new thread but in my case it happens regardless of what the character has equipped. In OP's screenshot the shadow is actually slightly smaller but in my case it stretches a lot more.

I would agree with everyone replying, that has experienced this phenomenon. I have declothed, disarmed, deringed, deamuleted, changed hair (suspected, but not entirely), changed my race then changed back thinking that the head mesh was messed up, changed skin texture. de modded lighting, newer mods, started a new game. All retaining the polygonal, shifting shape, depending on angle of view. I was hoping the new sse engine experimental fix was going to help, maybe helps, a little. Darndest thing. I also rolled back my video driver to a previous version. Tried fresh INI files. And still have not given up. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I will keep trying and checking back here for more responses.

Here is the P.I.T.A. method, but in the long run - in most all cases finds the issue:

START OVER WITH A CLEAN GAME. ( Back up all your current saves. )

Before you start - turn * OFF ALL MODS *. DLC's are not mods.

Use NMM in the: PLUG IN TAB - the RED Circle w/the Line Thru it. Then click back ON the DLC's only. Everything else should be UNCHECKED.

Start the game and get to a SAFE PLACE in the game, outside of Helgen. COC and/or Fast Travel if you can to a safe place to start the testing. Staying away from Bandits, Giants, Saber Tooth's, Orc's, and other dangers that could and will kill you on the spot. ;)

I would get to Whiterun in the city and use the console command to give you gold, so you can buy stuff as you need to test the mods out by Purchasing what the mods need.

Save twice, in Whiterun with NO MODS. These are back-ups, just in case.

* Then load 1 mod at a time, test it for a good few minutes or so. DO NOT SAVE. Exit and turn on the next mod and repeat.

LIKE I SAID: P.I.T.A.

Also, as I am fond of saying ... do not be surprised if it's a mod that makes NO SENSE. I had floating ground west of Whiterun and tested - retested all the " common sense " mods to no avail.

Then I just had to go and do the above: Sure enough, it was a bare-bones cabin in Winterhold of all places. This was just a basic, warm up, sleep, eat cabin. It was NOT meant to live your life in. I then reported my results to the mod creator .. and sure enough everyone using this mod had the same issues and confirmed the house mod was the issue, even the mod creator. He pulled the mod, as he could not figure out the why for of this.

So do not assume it's a " common sense " mod. It might be, but then again .......

Good luck ....

. o O ( And why do I see a shadow of a dragon flying above your computer???? Alduin!!!!!!!!!! ) ;)

Found this information in the KS Hairdo posts:

Apparently a Racemenu update setting that should be disabled

folder: data\SKSE\Plugins

The file itself is called skee64.ini (not the .dll one)

Make sure bEnableFaceOverlays=0

Fixed the polygon problem and flickering for me. Hope this helps everyone also.
