Relativelybest
Hi everyone. I'm re-playing the game and this time I'm having trouble getting into Anise's basement. (she's the witch with a little cabin that's near Falkreath) The first time I played the game I just used the console and "unlock" and was in there in no time, but this time that isn't working. Make sure you've targeted the hatch and not, like, the floor or something. Sometimes the console gets picky about that.

gsmanners
There's also the Alchemist's shack you could use to stay at, and that doesn't require you to kill anyone (except maybe a couple wolves).
autumnsky38
Thanks GSManners. I'd forgotten about that one! I always liked that one too---I'll have to go wandering and see if I can find it again. :) PS I have another quick question for you guys. I love these little cabins, but am not crazy about how there are boards missing and how you can see through the roof as well as some of the walls. Do you know if it's possible to add boards to cover those parts up and if so, could I do it through the console or would I need to create a mod? Thanks so much,Tracy

Thanks so much,TracyI like her shack too,but they could add a door to the shack, not only to the boards missing in the wall and the roof. When i am a Vampire i like to use the Drelas' Cottage, its close to Morthal and isolated from the population. The only problem is the big possibility of a Dragon appearing out of nowhere, because its close to a word wall. gsmanners
Another good one is Riverside Shack (just west of Kynesgrove). The only problem is you'll have to remove the wild animal first. But it does have a wardrobe that is Safe storage.
