Champions of Norrath

Yet again I seek a game for my Playstation 2 which is yet again running out of use. So I have resorted to: Champions of Norrath:Realms of EverQuest. I have read some reviews and done some research, and am hesitating to buy it until I hear from you! What do you feel about the game, if you have it and what do you think it would be like, if you don't?

I'd save your money for Everquest 2, coming out soon. Looks amazing, well worth a try.

Oh, and I wouldn't listen to the majority of anti-EQ folks, half of them haven't actually played the game, and the other half played it after its glory days.

True, I shouldn't judge something that I have never played before. But I do agree with you on one part, EQ 2 looks amazing and fantastic. I may wind up purchasing it, but right now I'm more focused on Thief III, since it is coming out very soon.

As far as EQ2 goes it does look stunning. The only problem is, is that I am 12 yrs. old and my parents have complete control over me. Which means that they can just say 'no'. Which is the case with MMORPG's they don't like the fee's or the whole idea of me talking to lots of other people, while playing a game... Well actually, the don't like the whole video game concept in general-but they still let me play so I'm happy. I think I am going to just buy CON because it's just something that can keep me entertained on my PS2, that fits my parents rigid requirements... :P

One thing about being young, Xionith - you'll grow out of it!

On topic. I would have thought we have all been stung so often by sales hype no one believes a word of it. I find it far more useful to hear from people who have played a game once it is available. We don't all like the same things but there is a surprising unanimity amongst those whose views I trust.

So I buy after I hearing opinions.

Wouldn't work if we all did it though!

I have played the original PC Everquest, though only fairly recently, and I have to say, I was quite disappointed with it. The tutorial wasn't really all that great, and, in my opinion, there was too much time spent figuring out how to do stuff and basically levelling up your character so you can go adventuring, and not enough actually adventuring. Saying that, though, from what I've seen, EQ 2 is going to be a HUMUNGOUS improvement, so it could very well be worth waiting for.
