dazzerfong
@ dogtown1: You mean there's nobody stupid enough to hit London at the time where there are more security per square meter than shops?

tetradite
well there was no cease fire, but I am happy to see there was no attacks on the games, the security was handled very well The security at the events may have been handled well, the run up was an effing shambles. Troops on the way back from Afghan having leave cancelled to fill in because G4S lied through their teeth about how many security staff they could provide = not good at all. And the ones they had employed largely not turning up, cue police and army filling in the gaps all over the country. And this company are most likely to get the contracts for the privatisation, sorry "outsourcing" of police functions in my area. Ironman5000
Well thank christ it's finally over! I think every product ever made in the UK was the official sponser of the olympics, I even saw tampons that were "proud sponsers of the olympics". Even a nappy (daiper if your in USA) advert which has sod all to do with it compared a baby climbing a chair to the struggle of winning an olympic event just so they could link it in the event! I feel dirty being British right now, this country has no dignity! This made me smile http://www.theappointment.co.uk/news/article-oddbins-launches-promotion-attacking-olympics-branding-restrictions Ha! Thanks for that link, I think the patrols were an unnecessary step...albeit hilarious! good to see they got their priorities right! Arcadiast
World Peace was declared when the A-Bombs fell over Japan. Since then we dont have Wars we have "conflicts".
modder3434
World Peace was declared when the A-Bombs fell over Japan. Since then we don't have Wars we have "conflicts". Semantics anyway keep the "conflicts" rolling on, otherwise I'll be out of a job. (just a joke, I'm not actively saying that war should continue indefinitely, at times it can get pointless)
