brokenergy
Here's my problem, I'm in the middle of ASOIAF and I'm already planning on what to read next. Problem is that I suck at looking for good books to read and don't want to waste my limited resouces. Can you guys recommend me a series similar to Game of Thrones? Or any good crime writers? Thanks in advance

RedVexHK
I loved the Mercedes Lackey series' Bardic Voices and her other series Vows and Honor . tho there's only 2 books in the series and they do have some.. uhm.... graphic erotica ... The Wen Spencer "Tinker" series is very good. Â Just a few I enjoyed.
Dazaster
If you're looking for female crime writers with a range featuring female protagonists, you can't go wong with the works of Linda Fairstein or Tess Gerritson.
SirIgnatz
As for a series like Game of Thrones, The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is mostly terrific(Books 9,10 can get a little dull)....although it's a very long series. For strong female characters in fantasy I recommend The Belgariad and Mallorean series by David Eddings, and The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. The Riddle-Master Trilogy by Patricia McKilip combines fantasy and mystery very well. This is just a small sampling of books I read, but are favored by my women friends.
