Dasim4
When this game first came out it was a major system hog. It still can be even a little over 2 years down the road. I'm sure a lot of people were in my shoes with systems that wouldn't really run it the way they desired. I installed it and started playing and just wasn't happy with what I was getting from my system so I put it on the back burner and waited. Now with a better system I've started playing and am totally addicted. Not only is Oblivion a truely marvelous game I now have access to literally thousands of mods including several straight from Bethesda. This game is better than ever. A lot of the mods are absolutely beautiful and I find it impressive that so many people give so much of their time to make such improvements to this outstanding game. I would like to thank them and Bethesda for giving me so much personal enjoyment. I see on the front page of this site that this community is growing. From my own experience I can understand why. I'm sure a lot of people out there are just like me and are finally getting to enjoy Oblivion for what it was ment to be.

MrCooper2006
Yeah well said Dasim. I too played for about 150hrs pre-modding. With low framerates, bad graphics, low resolution, no grass. But to be honest it will still an amazing game. Now tho, you truly can create your own perfect gaming experience, from controlling what the graphics look like, to what people wear. And all this from peoples hard work that they give away for free.... thanks guys. (Altho with the mods you add to the game your framerates are still probably even lower than they were originally... :P )
Stampede
I joined this forum shortly after getting Bloodmoon. Morrowind had already been out for quite some time by then. The real surge in activity came about 2 years after that games release. Of course the modders (who never cease to amaze me with their tenacity and skill) are also responsible for continually breathing more life into the game. And I think you make a good point as well Dasim.
LHammonds
Well, if Oblivion is growing, it might be attributed to fungus. ;)

What would be really great is if Bethesda were to somehow make the next game reverse compatible with fan mods. Just think how cool that would be to use your favorite armor, clothes, weapons homes, etc. in a brand spanking new ES game. I know I'm dreaming, don't think it's ever been done before, it would be so much extra work & legal issues addressed but it doesn't hurt to dream. UnholyShadow
Oblivion is such an awesome game with all the mods out for it, but one thing I realize is that while Oblivion without mods is a great game, it doesn't compare to Oblivion with mods. I used to love playing Oblivion on my 360, but I can't do it anymore. Mods just make the game so much better, and I think that all people who dedicate their time to making them are very generous.
