FOSE and FOMM

Recommended Posts

I finally get everything up and running....FO3 GotYE, FOMM, FOWE, etc. I start the game up, no problems or crashes....and then FOWE tells me it needs FOSE. I go to the webpage provided, download the Script Extender, and install it through FOMM like I did the other mods.

BUTTTTT...even though FOSE shows up in the Package and File Manager in FOMM, it doesn't show up on the main screen showing the DLC and mods loaded, and my Launch Fallout 3 button doesn't switch to Launch FOSE. Yes, I have the most current versions of everything, and I've tried logging off of Live.

You have not installed FOSE properly. You should not have used FOMM, but installed FOSE manually. You should have unzipped the file you downloaded and than followed the installation instructions: 1. Copy the .dll files and fose_loader.exe to your Fallout 3 directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder, and should contain files called Fallout3.exe, FalloutLauncher.exe and the G.E.C.K. (if installed).

It will not show up in your list of mods in FOMM, however, to the right of your mod list in FOMM will be a button "Launch FOSE". You will use this to launch the game.

I give up on this stupid FOSE! I have tried three weeks now to get it to run but no go. I have disable all my mods except Fallout3.esm, tried the compatibility settings, everything everyone has suggested. Still not able to use FOSE. :wallbash: I quit and simply deleting this game entirely. Even with Windows 7 64bit, my Fallout installed in the exact same place I have Oblivion, this mod simply refuses to run. I have googled it, ask the creators of FOSE (No replies from them) and have reached my breaking point. I should have just stuck with Oblivion instead of buying this game.

( it doesn't show up on the main screen showing the DLC and mods loaded) it is not supposed to. It is not a mod, it is a hook, an executable with scripted files to advance scripting behavior of the game. you will never see it "FOSE" show up as a mod in any thing.

if it is extracted open the folder you extracted, copy all files to the root of the game folder. launch fomm, the top button on the right will now reflect fose / launch with fose.

if it does not, the fomm file settings button is to be used and the comand feature has a button to browse where fose is. once selected, the fomm utility will always run the game with fose.

the games own launcher....will never show anything related to fose. fose is an invisible program...again, not a mod.

I have an issue that is making me pretty frustrated I installed a whole bunch of mods (FOWE included) and it needed FOSE so I downloaded it and installed it manually (.dll and launcher.exe into FO3 directory and such) and in FOMM it says Launch FOSE instead of Launch Fallout 3 so I assumed it had worked but when I click launch FOSE FOMM closes, a blank black command prompt appears and disappears for a second and then nothing happens. FO3 just doesn't launch. So what is the problem? Do I need to Launch FOSE and then launch FO3 through my steam or something?

I have the same problem as 5#

I was having an issue with the mod bringing up a giant menu I couldn't close out.

I read that you needed to install Fallout3 outside of Programsx86

But after doing that I had a slew of other problems, and right after I thought I fixed them all

I go to launch Fallout3 through NNM using FOSE and nothing happens.

I'm getting pretty frustrated, please help?
