jmwilson
I am making my own house mod and I am having a little trouble with the four NPCs I created. Two are chefs and I made them by copying other NPCs and they aren't giving me too many problems. I couldn't get them to stay on the patrol paths I created so I removed the paths and just let them use the markers in the room at random and haven't had problems since. I created two others for a lounge room, one is a bard and another is an inn keeper type merchant. These are the two giving me most of the problems. The bard I finally got to go to the x marker heading and use it to play music after I requested a song. Then she stopped and stood there. Does anyone know how to make her continuously play music? The merchant I could not get to show up for the longest time but I finally did and she wasn't behind the counter. Also I can't get both of them to show up in game at the same time. It's one or the other or neither of them. I have used idle markers, custom factions, custom AI Packages and I have run out of ideas. Does anybody have any other things to try? David Brasher
Have you navmeshed your house properly? I assume you have removed all the inappropriate AI packages. (Like if you copied an NPC from Falkreath and edited it, then it will have AI packages telling it to hang around in Falkreath rather than your house.) jmwilson
I did do that. I loaded Skyrim without the mod active then saved and loaded with the file and now I have all of the NPCs showing up but they just won't follow the patrols I set for them. I have watched videos and followed them step by step and they still won't follow the patrols. I tried to force the inn keeper behind a counter that cut her off from the rest of the room, I removed the navmeshing so that there was not possible way she could get to the rest of the room and when I went to the cell she wasn't behind the counter. That was pretty frustrating.
jmwilson
Ok I solved the problem. Apparently I had to go under Location Ref Type for her and mark her as a boss and now everything is fine.

Go under Location Ref Type, where? On the actor? In one of the packages? or what?

Go under Location Ref Type, where? On the actor? In one of the packages? or what? You have to go to the location ref type tab on the reference of the actor. Do this by double clicking on the NPC when he/she is in the world then go under the Location ref type tab and set it to Boss. You will then see a Red square above the NPC's head which indicates they are a boss.
