Your Currently Working Load Orders

What this thread is:

A place to post your currently working load orders. The best way to get a list is to use Wrye Bash's List mods function by rightclicking 'file" at the top, then selecting list mods. There are others I'm sure, but this is the easiest I've found. Also using FCOM helper to put everything in the correct load order firsthand you'll have a good list to follow.

 

What it does:

This will be a beacon saying "Here be working load orders". I know none are 'perfect' but post what works for you. This thread will also serve as a resource of what I'm trying to help Random007 do in compiling more up to date load orders. A new player or slightly experienced one can have a place to go.

 

Don't bother:

Posting the FCOM expanded load order or basic load order lists from that site. This is to put in complete load orders, not those only dealing with FCOM. For instance: It says put 'quests' here...what quests? Which ones? Besides, here's a link to those as well as a guide for FCOM Convergence:

If you've got a great load order of someone else's from another source, go ahead and post it here but give the credit to the source.

 

What I hope:

That this thread becomes 'stickied" so players can easily see it at the top of a page. In truth, I think it would do better at the top of both Oblivion Mod Talk AND Mod Troubleshooting.

 

If you would like to add comments explaining just why a certain one is in a certain position, this would be helpful and a useful tool for FCOM helper to determine future load orders.

 

In short:

**If you change/tweak your load order in a different way from the one you first posted here, simply go to THAT post and make the changes. Best way is to copy and paste over the original.

 

++ When this is in front of a mod in the list, this means it is merged into Wrye Bash's Bashed Patch. This is one mod that can carry the work of hundreds.

 

** When this is in front of a mod in the list, this means it is integrated into the Bashed Patch. This means the mod is virtually active only through the Bashed Patch.

 

####Message. There are a lot of mods that aren't "mods". By this I mean they don't have esm's or esp's. However, you can still make an OMOD out of them. Good idea Shadow, this way you can "Ctrl+F" the load orders to find the mod you're looking for and where it should be.

Anyway the order I have I wouldnt say is perfect or completely crash free but hey, it starts a new game with no problems and everything is active and working perfectly, so I would say its a "Working Load Order"

 

Hopefully more people will add to this as it should bring the number of repeated posts about what goes where etc.

That's why I specified 'what works for you". Not everyone's tastes are the same. I don't expect everyone to follow a formulated order, but to have a good idea of what load orders should look like. I know I borrowed quite a bit of mod info off of other's posted Load orders. I'd see it and go "I wonder what that does?" All the load orders were unintentional, meaning they weren't there to serve as an example, but for others to try and find faults with them.

 

Also, my load order reflects a wierd tendency to find as many bashed patch mergeables as possible. THere's 103 in mine so far. It's sort of a project I'm doing for myself, to see just how far I can go with it. I know there's noone else who has compiled a list of all the mergeables. I've even thought about creating packages of them for others to DL, but I'll have to reapply for membership here again when I've the extra money.

 

Mine also has another wierd tendency. I experiment to see if the mods do just what they're supposed to. For instance, I recently changed "more books teach" to "The_Student_Mod". Why? More books teach seldom wants to work, a fact I should have recalled from months ago. I'm now trying the other out to see if it's more reliable.

 

I've also entered a sort of agreement with Random007 to try and find all those "unknown" mods not included in the FCOM helper f_order_list. How can 1 man keep up with all these mods when there is probably over 18, 000 in existence?

Is there currently a thread for MODS not listed in FCOM helper? I would like to assist anyone working on this. I have many what I call good MODS that aren't included. I modify the f_order file myself. One of the things that annoy me about FCOM helper is it doesn't recognize some of the "alternate" esp files. Like I prefer the "closed mouth version of the Corean MOD, but FCOM helper only recognizes the original version. So if there is an active thread, I would like to participate. Thanks.
