ralthron
I recently hopped on to Nexus to try and find some Dark Souls Remastered and Dark Souls 3 mods. I found the mods, a lot of them too, but when I went to download some I wanted I found Vortex wouldn't recognize the games as installed, or even supported. These are some very popular titles with large player bases and a good amount of mods on the Nexus and the new Nexus mod management program doesn't even recognize them? Why is Vortex not updated to support all the mods and games that Nexus caters to?
TheGreatFalro
Why is Vortex not updated to support all the mods and games that Nexus caters to?Because the Nexus has mods for over 600 games, and programming support for all of them would literally take years? AugustaCalidia
NexusMods is not now and never has been obligated to provide mod management support for the mod sites it hosts. That it does provide any such support is a work of supererogation and shows a deep commitment to the modding community. The two mod managers this site has officially supported over the years are open source so that modders can customize the managers as they wish, as 1ae0bfb8 has already pointed out. (And modders have done just that. Check out the changelog for Vortex 0.17.5.) Furthermore, Nexusmods allows an expanding number of other mod managers (such as MO and MO2) to hook into the Nexusmod manager download system.
