Question about Wyrebash and load order.

Cool, understood. I really think switching weather & light mods halfway through, some armor mods as well brought all this with it. It was supposed to be my 1st restart lol. I feel like deleting everything and restarting just to see if this could have been avoided.

While restarting should one check SSEedit after every newly installed mod to see if there's conflicts?

the best time to check is when you have your entire mod setup ready, and are ready to start a new game. this means you have all the mods you would like to use installed, and is not intending on installing or uninstalling any mod once you hit new game.

This is also how to correctly mod a game, You Install All the mods you wish to use, then hit new Game, and forget about every other mod, until your are ready to start another New Game. a lot of people ignore this fact, and they end up being the same people, having issues with their games (Because of installing new Mods and Uninstalling Mods in an Active Playthrough).

So all that needs to be done is: Ensure their are No Mod Conflicts - Ensure you have a Correct Load Order - Ensure No mods Are installed or Uninstalled once you Start a New Game - Ensure Your Game is not Heavily Scripted - and all the mods you have chosen will not exceed your Hardware Resources: If all of these Requirements Are Met. Then you will have a Very Long and Issue Free Game.

I'll still try fixing this tonight though. I have 75 mods, and don't want anymore. None should conflict with each other.

Is it good to start by cleaning the master files first right now? Than working downwards on the list? Also making sure an author has specifically mentioned not to clean.

Yes, As it is very important to clean mods that need it. this especially applies to the Official Dlc. since they are Very Dirty Plugins. The DLC Files would typically be done as soon as possible, i cleaned mine before i even installed any mod, but the time you do it does not matter, as long as it is done before Starting a New Game ().

Just bare in mind that when cleaning mods and the official dlc, you must do 1 mod at a time. so you clean 1 ESP or ESM then exit to save the changes, then load xEdit again, and proceed to the next mod, do this every time. never attempt to Clean multiple mods at the same time, as this will no doubt end with problems.

It Should also be Noted: LOOT will Notify you of any mods that Need Cleaning, so it is not necessary to Check Every Mod, only the ones LOOT Tells you, With Regards to Mod Cleaning.

Note: For the Official DLC You only Clean: Update.ESM, Dawnguard.ESM, Hearthfires.ESM and Dragonborn.ESM - You will want the Update.ESM Always Selected when you Clean each DLC file, that is for Removing ITMs from each DLC.

Note: For Cleaning Mods you are Presented with 2 Options which are as Follows: Undelete and Disable References + Remove Identical to Master Records, using both of these options will clean the mod(s)

that will only happen if you made absolutely no change to the mod in question

closing without the save dialogue box appearing also applies, if the cleaning process did not delete/change anything.

so if you attempt to clean a mod that either does not need cleaning or is already clean, then you will have not made any changes to it, so closing xEdit will literally just close, with no save dialogue box. as no changes was made.

Did you definitely Select Both Update.esm and Dawnguard.esm to both be loaded, when you attempted to Clean Dawnguard, if not, Update.esm should also be selected when you clean the 3 Official DLC

I'm just going to put it here.

You cannot put your whole faith in the master order that the mod author has wrote sometime. Sometime its better to pop open xedit to just sort the master of the mod and resolve the yellow highlighted box on WyreBash this way. I saw several mod where the master order that was making the wyrebash yellow is the official DLC.

The LOOT load order put the Hearthfires.esm is put above the Dragonborn.esm where the master order in the mod put the Hearthfire.esm below Dragonborn.esm. This is wrong because if you change the load order of the official DLC, all other mod will become yellow instead. in this situation, just use the xedit and sort the master for that mod that was shown yellow in WyreBash.

Try to adhere to LOOT load order more than the color shown in WyreBash and if you are still in doubt, check the SSEEdit to be sure. This is especially true for a Patches. I saw several patches that have wrong master order and adhering to the master order according to the mod author will actually return the vanilla value making some part of the mod non-functional. SSEEdit is your best friend. Always.

Although many mod authors say that master order dont reallly affect the mod/game stability but.. better safe than sorry.
