NoodleNaught
Hello, I'm wondering what the worst race would be for a fist only naked build on master (master is the hardest right?) difficulty. I won't be using shouts powers or anything else, so I guess it comes down to the resistances of the races, and whatever other bonuses they might have. Also is there a potion that increases unarmed damage? (Wood Elves are not a option)

(Wood Elves are not a option) Are you playing vanilla?By naked, do you mean no equipped items at all? If both of those area a yes then I can see you :wallbash: As far as I know there is two ways to increase hand to hand in vanilla. Heavy armour perk for guantlets to add their armour rating to your attack. You'd have to abuse smithing/alchemy to get that to a high level. Then theres the enchantment that you can get from gloves of the pugilist. I'm not sure if you can disenchant, and to which items you can apply it if you can. I suggest using a perk overhaul. I use SkyRe and it has an unarmed item that lets you level one handed by using it (it looks the same as you just being bare knuckled) and it also scales up with the skill. There are several perks that let you do different fighting types such as enchanting or applying poisons to your fist. That aside... with no power usage then I'd say that any race apart from Khajiit, Breton, Dunmer or Nord would do. modder3434
Khajitt have the highest beginning ability and using heavy armor gauntlets for hand to hand adds power to your attacks in the game gloves of the plugist would help as well. As for abilities an orc or redguard would suit your purpose for damage resistance, and the powers, beserker rage, and adrenaline rush Edited August 2, 2012 by modder3434
Omeletter
The worst race would be a stereotypical magic race, like High elf. Also, get the mod skyRe, it features an unarmed perk tree. I played as a light armored khajiit with no weapons for a while, I tore everybody to shreds.
NoodleNaught
I appreciate the responses, but I'm looking for the worst not the best. I am trying to make the game absolutely as hard as possible while still being playable. (I am one of those players who finds this game ridiculously easy). And yes Luzburg I'm playing vanilla with some graphics mods, and by naked I mean no equipment at all. (your fists do 5 damage base I believe?) Install SkyRe then, I kept getting one hitted by a Draugr Overlord in Labyrynthian, spent half an hour a it and I am level 38. He kept Fus Ro Dah'ing me and then hitting me once to kill, my fully perked sneak damage only took a tenth of his hp and I had to run around kiting him for ages. It definitely makes it harder. You can try one of the other dificulty mods too. Of course, playing vanilla with no items or powers,is probably even more difficult.
NoodleNaught
I hadn't heard of SkyRe before looks great I'll give it a shot. does it conflict with graphics mods like the Enhanced Towns mods? Anyways I was trying to do this because my last character was a orc barbarian in Steel Plate with wuuthrad and I was demolishing everything. level 40 something now, and never spent a perk or dragon soul. The fact that you can do that is stupid. (Master Difficulty of course)

The great thing about SkyRe is it opens up new fun playstyles that would have been impossible. Getting sneak damage on your destruction magic will let you romp lesser enemies but then you meet Mr. Overlord who laughs at two sneaky dual fireballs to the face and then one shots you with his bow. NoodleNaught
Well downloading SkyRe now. Thanks for the tip. I might enjoy Skyrim again. It takes around 200 punches to kill a basic dragon, and though I've done that many times before. It gets taxing.
Psiberzerker
Fists of Steel only adds the Base armor rating of gauntlets to Unarmed damage, so it's not affected by smithing. In answer to the Original Queastion, there's only 2 good races for unarmed, Kahjiit, and Argonians both do more damage. I'd also add Ork, for their Daily power, and Breton for Magic resistance. Nord has none of these, just Cold Resistance, and a Fear shout to save you in a jam. Same with Imperial, only it's Calm, and no resistance whatsoever. So, probably Imperial, they have absolutely nothing going for them in this build. Expect to die, a lot, then give up when progression becomes completely impossible. I beat the game at level 1, no experience, but I used a Kahjiit, and scrolls/staffs (just never recharged them) it was almost impossible on Novice. You might want to do a lot of Cooking too.
