easywolf
Finally figured out all the mods I wanted, did a clean restart (Now at lvl 3) but dang it looks uglay in SSEedit with many in the red, especially the worldspace parts. I'd probably say this is the most common type of red error I see: worldspace/tamriel/block 0, -1/sub-block 2, -1Can anyone advise me? Create a bashed patch first, figure out and adjust load order or repair with SSEedit first? thumbincubation
I don't know that I necessarily do it the "right way," but what I do is install whatever mods and patches, open Wrye Bash to see if it flags me for reversed masters or any issues like that, activate the mods, run LOOT and sort, check Wrye Bash again. If everything looks right, I open xedit, make a merged patch and delete the leveled lists from it, (also repair any reversed masters, etc.) Then I go back to wrye bash and set my tweaks, make the bashed patch with the merged patch active. Finally I open xedit again, run the filter for conflicts, expand the bashed patch and look at any conflicts I want to override (I frequently have leveled lists giving NPCs two or three different types of boots or gauntlets, so I get rid of the ones I don't want them to have, then I run through the rest of the mods to see if there are conflicts I want to change. I like your logic, hoping it's ok do all you mention without any weird repurcussions. 1) open Wrye Bash to see if it flags me for reversed masters or any issues like that, activate the mods, run LOOT and sort, check Wrye Bash again. Will do 2) If everything looks right, I open xedit, make a merged patch and delete the leveled lists from it, (also repair any reversed masters, etc.)Hmmmmm ok so I should do this first? It's called an SSEedit Merge Patch? Delete the leveled lists? Reversed Masters? 3. Then I go back to wrye bash and set my tweaks, make the bashed patch with the merged patch active. Ok 4. Holy toledo, ok now I'm confused lol. Anyone feel like taking control of my pc and doing all this, I can pay whatever you require. I'll spare no expense like Hammond in Jurassic Park would say. Actually I'll have to spare a little bit lol.
thumbincubation
You shouldn't have any trouble. When I say reversed masters, I may not be using the right term. In Wrye Bash, you may see a mod or two that looks different. On the right side of the screen, about the middle, where it lists the masters, you may see that it says Dragonborn then Dawnguard or something like that. I'm not sure exactly how it happens (I suspect it has to do with the order in which a mod author added a certain master as they were building their mod) but it can now be fixed in the new versions of xedit. The merged patch is something gamerpoets describes as potentially helpful, non-risk, so if it doesn't help things flow, it won't hurt. But wrye bash is better at handling leveled lists than xedit, so they say you make the merged patch, delete the leveled lists from it, so wrye bash can do them, then move on to fixing whatever else you want to fix, then make your bashed patch. Here's a gamerpoets tutorial on the merged patches. And here's some more from xedit themselves. https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/5-mod-cleaning-and-error-checking.html#s_5-3-2 Hope it helps. I don't know about taking control of your pc. It's not something I've ever done. To be honest, I would be hesitant to let someone else take control of mine. easywolf
Anyone have a link for fixing mod conflicts for dummies?
thumbincubation
Here are a few, though whether or not they could be considered simple I don't know. I'm given to understand that GamerPoets is now the official xedit video tutorial channel, so I suspect we'll be seeing quite a bit more xedit tutorials from them, in the near future. I always have good luck with GPs stuff, as they're well researched and well explained.
easywolf
I'm at level 18 with 91 mods, no CTD's so far, hmmmm I hear how people messed up their game trying to fix things with xedit and wrye bash. Scared to mess with this stuff.
easywolf
Only make a bashed patch when you've done everything else. never ever ever ever make a bashed patch BEFORE you do anything else. Â Hey there, can you please elaborate a little bit more if possible? So I have all my 90 mods in, at level 18 now, havent removed or added anything new since the restart. Haven't had any CTD's yet. Can you give me 3 tips on where to look and for what? Loot and Vortex say zero errors or dirty plugins. SSEedit says about 40 are in red others in orange.
