Duplicate Plugin Issue - Morrowind

Hi, I have recently started installing mods with Morrowind through Vortex. Although it started off well, I have encountered this strange issue with dragging plugins between the Disabled/ Enabled section. I can move them to the enabled section just fine but it wont allow me to move them back + it seems to be making duplicates,

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? The mods are installed in the F drive under a folder called Vortex Mods - separate from the main Vortex installation. The duplicates do go away if you restart the application but the issue continues to happen.

I have also tried removing the plugins entirely, uninstalling and deleting the archive, but the old plugins still exist in the plugins section.. I just can't seem to get rid of them P_P

Edit: Apologies, I think the issue stems from the downloads folder in-fact being on a different drive (was the staging folder that was on the same drive). Have tried reinstalling it, clearing all vortex folders that I can find after uninstalling. Reconnected Morrowind and the plugins still appear. I take it there is some kind of file in the Morrowind folder that controls this? Ill probably try reinstalling and wiping the Morrowind folder and see if that works.

Edit: Issue still not fixed. Worked for a while but then the duplicate issue started again.

Since I've got the same problem I would love to know how you fixed it...

Personally I gave up using Vortex for sorting plugins and uses the game launcer instead. With currently only two active plugins (apart for Morrowind + dlc) this works, but in the off-chance I'll add more mods having a working Vortex with Morrowind would be an advantage.

Edit: disregard this, see below post.

In my case I had to clean reinstall Vortex and Morrowind, including deleting the Morrowind folder and the Vortex \AppData\Roaming\Vortex folder (which is a hidden file in your users/username folder if your on Windows 10). I also deleted the other folders that Vortex sets up, which is the main install folder, vortex downloads folder, and the mods staging folder. Its important especially that you delete the morrowind folder after uninstalling the game, as some of the Vortex plugin settings can remain if you don't.

After that I installed Morrowind, then I installed Vortex in admin mode. I installed it in the root of my F drive, which is separate to the drive that windows 10 is installed on, and its also the drive Morrowind is installed on. I think this is important, especially if you mod allot, I have known to have issues having these things installed in the same drive as your operating system.

After that, open up Vortex, go to settings, then mods tab, and set the path to a new folder outside of your vortex installer. Also make sure the folder is on the same drive as your game/ vortex is installed on. Then do exactly the same thing on the downloads tab. So at the end of it you should have three folders on the root of your drive. Mine are,

Vortex (main install)

Vortex Downloads

Vortex Mods (staging)

Its important to have the downloads and staging folders outside of the folder you installed Vortex into, while also being on the same drive. The issue I had before was that although I installed it on my F drive, it automatically assigned the downloads path to the drive my OS was installed on, which I "think" was the issue. It works fine now though.

I hope that helps, again I am hoping this has fixed the issue, it seems to be fine with a few mods that I have installed but I plan to test more extensively towards the weekend.

Ok I spoke too soon. Installed a few other mods just now to where I was at before. I played around with moving the one I had issues with and after a little bit, it started going wrong again, making duplicates and so forth. Disregard the post above, will have to troubleshoot some more.

Edit: Just to clarify the problem some more, I don't even need to drag the mod over to the disabled section for the duplicates to appear. They are just constantly created as I move the dragged plugin up and down inside the enabled section. Along with it no longer letting me move any plugin to the disabled section.

Any update? I'm getting the exact same problem

The current test-version 0.17.9 seems to have fixed the problems with drag-and-drop plugins.

If you want to test this version, under Settings - Vortex under "Update" choose "Testing".

Otherwise, wait until "Stable" Vortex-client is released.

Awesome! I switched to the test-version and after a bit of fiddling around with the plugins and in the Morrowind launcher the problem seems to be fixed, thanks for the quick response.
