Skotte
I have a feeling most (if not all) here would want a FO3 CS. But I wonder if Bethesda is getting tired of their fanbase making bigger, better mods for free? Or is the fence sitting just a facade, like telling a child that you wont get them the thing they want even though you already bought & have it hid for the right time to give to them. I personally think Beth will try not releasing a cs this time.

Lord Slyther
The CS that comes out with it or not, that will be my decision whether or not I should get Fallout 3. Without Construction Set, I have no purpose of playing it. I'd rather mod like we're able to in Oblivion.

Marcus Wolfe
Methinks that if CS is not released, it is because Fallout3 will be too epic to mod (if that's even possible) Note that I did not say 'difficult'. If they build it, the fans will figure out how to mod it.
Skotte
While I agree with you all that it'd be a bad move in general if Beth didn't at least have a CS available for DL. I don't think I was very clear with what I was asking (in hindsight). :wallbash: I was trying to ask for your opinion if Beth will have or wont have a CS or GECK for us. @ Marcus Wolfe: No offense intended but IMO "Epicness" of a game shouldn't be a factor unless making the game took longer to make than the time they allotted for it & even then that would be a weak argument since they only fairly recently released the release date. LHammonds
Well, if they intend on continuing the downloadable content (DLC) scheme, I would think that they need to release their DLCs in fairly quick succession (one per week?) and when they have released all DLCs, then release a construction kit. It just seems silly to hand out a construction kit and then try to sell additional (relatively small) plugins that the community can create themselves. Either way, I'm not holding my breath since I'm not to interested in Fallout but I would buy it if it had a CS just to play around with creating my own weapons. I just like old-skool swords and armor too much...unless it is Star Wars. ;) LHammonds
shandrill
TBH The only reason I still play Oblivion is because of the Mods. The vanilla game while good was not as in depth and thought out as Morrowind IMO. It was the CS and the community that make Oblivion one of the most outstanding games I have ever played. The details in UL, Better City's and many other must have mods offer the missing detail that should have been lavished on Oblivion and mods like Kavatch rebuilt (Giskard) and others, offer unfinished quests and storyline that fill a BIG hole. It drives me insane when I get those 'New topics' of unfinished/ started quests. I am not sure if anyone else feels the same but my confidence in Bethesda doing whats best for its game and community has been sorely tested and I have little confidence in them doing much in the way of after game release support adding content/ expansions if Oblivion is anything to go by. Good golly, even Neverwinter nights 2 is getting another expansion. If they do release a CS (if they don't they are shooting themselves in the foot) it will be to keep us off their backs. I do think they will release a CS. It would be too far from what they are known for to do anything else. I think Fallout 3 will be a great bare bones game like Oblivion but it will be up to the community to lavish the love to make it a fantastic game and that will only happen with a CS release. Skotte
I just hope that if Beth does release a CS that they don't release too late (after the interest in the game has waned).
