EisenhammerTec
My vortex is having a sudden issue. The issue is this; it detects no games despite many being available. Even though I have it searching every drive it comes up with nothing.I have no idea how to solve this issue. It's been going on for over a week now and all I want to do is play Fallout. If anyone can please help me fix this I'd be forever grateful. Thanks in advance everyone. rmm200
We need a lot more information... This will cover the basics:https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7332636-how-to-post-request-support-for-vortex/ You have to give history of what you have done.Have you installed mods using Vortex? Do your registry entries match your game's current install location? Steam installs?
EisenhammerTec
Vortex Version: 0.17.8 The main game I want to work is Fallout 4. There are currently 61 active mods for fallout but they can't be used as Fallout can't be detected. I'm running windows 10 on my desktop. The issue is that Vortex is not detecting anything. Although fallout works fine, with F4SE mind you, it doesn't load any mods.I have it searching every drive on my PC and it still detects nothing.I've tried scanning with the scan option on Vortex.I've tried redownloading Vortex and still nothing.I've redownloaded Fallout 4 and that did nothing either.I'm running the steam version of Fallout 4 if that helps.I would post my screen captures but I can't find the option on here.I'm not usually on here as I've never had an issue that requires this level of help before.Sorry for the incompetence. EisenhammerTec
Directories appear to be in the same x86 area.
rmm200
Sounds like you are saying the Fallout 4 game directory, Vortex Downloads, and Vortex Mods are all located under Program Files (x86).On the Settings/Games tab, you can point directly at the Fallout 4 game directory by clicking Add Search Directory. EisenhammerTec
I have Vortex searching all my drives for Fallout 4 and despite the fact that Fallout exists on C drive, the first drive it searches, it does not detect it.
EisenhammerTec
I'm sorry I cannot post images to help you. I found the image uploader but sadly it doesn't work for me. However, like the image you posted, my "games" tab has every drive on my PC being scanned.Despite this fact Vortex does not detect Fallout 4. rmm200
I said "Click on Add Search Directory". Enter your full game path there. And if you did install the directories I listed under "Program Files (x86)" - don't do that. That is the single worst place on your computer to put them. Pickysaurus
What is you file path for Fallout? If you go into the games tab, and find Fallout under "Supported" you can manually tell Vortex where it is.
EisenhammerTec
Exact file path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 Under the support tab only fallout 4 VR is available. Under managed it says Fallout 4 is currently being managed. In discovered there is nothing available to select.I set my search path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4and it still doesn't detect anything.
