charwo
I left Dogmeat way way back, specifically I timed his waiting out, and when I came back to get him, he's outside 101, but only barks when I click him. He does not follow, his promt doesn't come up and I'm deeply deeply annoyed. I tried kill/resurrect and it didn't work. What do I do?
charwo
Dogmeat cannot be commanded. I need to fix this. How do I fix this?
TomSawyer
Just a stupid idea and i realy dunno if this will work but put him through console to another spot and try to speak to him there (f.e. go to megaton and write in the console "prid 0006a775" and then "moveto player", after his appearance talk to him, maybe he is responsive there like he should). BlackRampage
I tried kill/resurrect and it didn't work. What do I do?Try this instead: kill > disable > enable > resurrect.
charwo
I have both moved him and killed and resurrected him. I have also enabled and disabled him. Nothing causes him to enter a dialogue script. He simply makes noises like he was a scavenger dog. Nothing more. What's going on?
TomSawyer
Fallout wiki says that order prid <referenceID> [or select him manually]killresurrectdisableenable This should reset the non-player character back to alive status and reinitialze his AI. You may need to wait for up to 24 hours for that non-player character to return back to his usual path and activities after using those commands. Should a companion non-player character die (example: Fawkes), the resurrected non-player character may be in the state they were in before they joined you, and will not offer companion dialogue options (a resurrected Fawkes may merely tell you to "Go away" when you attempt to initiate dialogue). To reinitialize them as a companion, as described in the notes for Dogmeat, use the "resetquest" command followed by the appropriate quest base ID. Ex.: After resurrecting Fawkes, enter "resetquest 943ee" without the quotation marks. Talk to him as if recruiting him for the first time. charwo
Then 'resetquest' I will try. The problem is that the Fallout wiki lists no associated quest. I will need the ID number to attempt a reset.
TomSawyer
Ok dude, let´s try that: resetquest <quest_id>0x000943ed "Hiring Dogmeat Quest" Edited August 21, 2012 by TomSawyer
GrayWolf04
I'm reviving this since I've run into an issue with Dogmeat andwant to redo the whole event of finding him in the scrapyard. However this resets his hire-ability, but he just stands in the same area until I talk to him, and he won't initiate conversation. Bottom line: Is there a way to completely reset him, the three raiders attacking him, and the dead scavenger in the scrapyard so that it would be like starting a new game, without having to actually start a new game? kalby87
After much digging I finally have something that works. This gave me back Dogmeat: setstage 0006DFAF 999make sure your Dogmeat quest is 0006DFAF using "find dogmeat"You can then see all the stages of it with "sqs 0006DFAF"By setting the stage to 999, which is the last one, it spawned a Dogmeat and I just disabled the current broken one.WORKS with the base game, tested 24/09/16.
