Irony Defined

The annoying court mage in Solitude talking down to me (When literally I was talking down to her, shorty.), when I far surpassed her in every magical skill, including enchanting and alchemy. In addition to me being three times her level.

Annoying.

A dialogue overhaul would be awesome, so NPCs will actually seem at least a little bit intelligent.

I don't know, i think the self assured arrogance is quite realistic.

I just wish my Dawnguard character could say "So...how many years has it been without anyone noticing this lady's a vampire? I mean really, her eyes glow!"

In general, the game is a creepy mix of "the dev team thinks of everything" and NPCs with issues dealing with authority.

There's the cheery student J'Zargo who tells the Archmage he developed a new flame cloak spell and perhaps since the Archmage's time is less valuable than his own, maybe the Archmage could test the spell next time he gets into a fight? As it turns out, J'Zargo never tested the spell himself because it sets the Archmage on fire. When confronted with this, J'Zargo then thanks the Archmage for his valuable contribution.

The dialog option "clean out your cupboard and bugger off out of my college" is sadly missing.

Anyway, irony... the Greybeards believe the Thu'um is meant to be used for worship, not for combat. So of course they teach you Unrelenting Force and present you with phantom "targets" to kill.

"The next Imperial I see is dead!" snarls the Stormcloak prisoner in his chains, escorted by three Imperial Troopers.

Yea, I choked on my lunch, good job. NPCs need better dialog options.

- *cast Healing Hand on injured guard* "Be careful where you cast that!" ...dude.

- Nelkir (one of Whiterun's Jarl's kids): "Another wanderer, here to lick my father's boots. Good job." Except I'd just been made Thane for helping get rid of a dragon. Time to see if backhanding him into a table falls under 'crimes I can now get away with'.

I was the irony in this one.

.. so I was in the orphanage, I didn't feel compelled to Kill Grelod the Kind right away, I had waited a while before starting that one anyhow...

I was in stealth, and cast Frenzy on her instead...

oh CRAP I started laughing so hard, because she pulled out a wooden sword and starts beating the kids...

I just couldn't make myself kill her after that... it was the first time anything was done to the mouthy little brats..
