Crashing on startup

I recall that load order needs to be specific for some mods, and that LOOT doesn't always get this right. Could anyone point out where I'm going wrong?

Generally, all the mods you use have to be for the version of Skyrim you are running.

 

CTD on startup is also often to do with a reference to a mod that you no longer have.

 

That ESO Nord weapons - that is meant for Skyrim, not Elder Scrolls Online?

okay bud, lemme see if i cant try helping u out, i had a problem similar to what you described, if your skyrim is crashing right after the beth logo plays, then ur in the same boat as i was

lemme set up a key for you:

 

1. go into your plugins menu

 

2. disable all plugins and launch skyrim

if it works then proceed to 3, if it doesn't skip to 8

 

3. enable the top half of your plugins and launch skyrim

if it works without crashing proceed to 4, if it doesn't skip to 5

 

4. disable the top half and enable the bottom half, then launch

if it works you have a mod on 1 half conflicting with 1 or more on the other, if it doesn't proceed to 5

 

5. of the half that didn't work split that one into 2 smaller halves (quarters) enable the top quarter and disable the bottom then launch

if the top quarter works proceed to 6, if it doesn't skip to

 

6 now try the bottom quarter and launch

if it works same as in 3, if it doesn't proceed to 7

 

7. continue this pattern into 8ths, 16ths etc. until the sections become small enough to manage 1 by 1

if you eventually fnd the problem child mod, get rid of it, if you don't proceed to 8

 

8. cry
