Ghost People issue

Good day.

 

Currently, i'm having some issues with regards to the ghost people in the DLC dead money. It seems I cannot dismember them no matter what i do. It was working fine a few days ago. I used a mod that lets me go back to sierra madre. This is my load order.

What changed? In general, if you haven't changed anything about your game and it suddenly stops working correctly you need to look to other causes: such as software updates to Windows, programming libraries such as ".Net", or hardware drivers. Older games eventually get dropped from product testing. It is also possible you are having problems with your hard drive. It never hurts to run "chkdsk".

I don't see anything obviously wrong with that "load order", except:

 

1) your "Bashed Patch" file is not active. That means you are not getting the "record-level conflict resolution" benefit, including "merged leveled lists". Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

 

2) Also you have the "Purge Cell Buffers.esp" plugin.

 

* Do not use an "Auto-purge" mod for game play. (That was old advice from before we knew better.) They are designed for debugging by mod creator's only, according to the author of the JIP extensions to NVSE. See the 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu', "Cause-2", "Solution-3" entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide for the game settings that do the same job.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah I forgot that i'm still using purge cell buffers. Anyway nothing much changed. only i cannot dismember the ghost people anymore. It was working on an old save so i was thinking it probably has something to do with going back to the sierra madre casino even though i have already finished the dlc.

 

EDIT: it looks like the issue is coming from this mod "Return To Sierra Madre" i saw one of the posts mention being unable to cripple the limbs of ghost people after returning to the casino

Thanks for the confirmation. With that clue I was able to confirm that same "invincibility" problem is reported in "Return To The Sierra Madre Casino" as well.

 

Added as 'Issue - DLC Dead Money - Cannot kill or dismember ''Ghost People''' under "Solutions to Miscellaneous Problems" section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article, with a suggested solution of manually adding the "Ghost Hunter" perk (via a tool such as "Fallout NV Cheat Terminal Redux" possibly) proposed in a comment from one of those mods.
