idk what's going on... ive had the same, or a similar, problem. i have been using... more then a few mods... and they were all working fine, until i did a certain quest. i havnt added any mods since this problem started, it just sort of... happened. like i said i hadnt added any extra mods since before this problem started until after it had is when i installed a few more mods. yes i tried disabling all of them, and the problem persisted, i think that i was able to talk to the npc's i couldnt when i restarted my game, but i have a level 107 character... i dont really want to have to restart. the quest that all of this happened after was the theives guild quest where you have to go get the falmer language on a charcoal rubbing, and after this quest, i noticed i couldnt talk to npc's when i went back to calcelmo, and i couldnt talk to him or anyone else in markarth except the guards, the important npc's (as in the bartenders and the miners, but i cant talk to the jarls, any named person, and strangely, the only person at the college i cant talk to is arniel. i could live with this problem since i have done most of the major questlines, and am still able to talk to most of the guild members and brotherhood members, but it seems i wont be able to start any more quests other than the one's associated with the guilds, tl;dr i would be so happy if i could have some help

I recently ran across this too. When i walked up to a npc I could not interact with then no matter what I did. I even punched them but the npc healed instantly and went on ignoring me. After this event I googled a bit and heared somewere that changing your stats could do this to your game.

then i remembered that i had recently used showracemenu on the pc to change my characters race, apperently resetting some hard earned stats en ruining npc interaction. So what I did was look up my closest safe before the race change and load it to see if that was the problem.

And as it turned out for me, that was indeed the problem. I'm not sure wether this is too the case for you, but you might check it out.

By the way turning back to your former race doesnt work. I lost about 3 hours of playting because of this problem.

TL:DR, changing your stats by any means (like showracemenu and then changing race) might cause the problem.

Hope this helped.

Had this problem when I was playing with Sneak Tools. Could be resolved by unequipping face covering masks. Apparently people don't like chatting with someone whose face they can't see, because he could murder them without the guards being able to put up a bounty. So before abandoning Sneak Tools altogether, check if that "masked" effect is on your character.

SOLVED! I found out what mod was causing it by having a chat with a friend of mine who is pretty much the all knowing when it comes to mods and it turns out it was THIS mod causing it '' http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=10160 '' Please stay the hell away from it and flag it to get it taken down. The name of the mod is '' Morrowindized Racial Skill Bonusses and Resistances '' and apperently it used to work but now it just corrupts your game. Thanks !

WOW really? Are you that arrogant? You literally want it to be removed instead of just reaching the modder and warn him about this issue? WOW. Just WOW.

WOW. What a kid.
