FeMaidenVG
I just installed Vortex. My OS is windows 64 bit. I already had three games that Vortex manages installed Skyrim, Stardew valley and Enderal. When I moved them from discovered to managed I got the following error:Failed to initialize LOOTError: Given game path "null" does not resolve to a valid directory. at c.handleResponse (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar.unpacked\bundledPlugins\gamebryo-plugin-management\index.js:45:84593) at Socket.e.on.e (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar.unpacked\bundledPlugins\gamebryo-plugin-management\index.js:45:83366) at emitOne (events.js:116:13) at Socket.emit (events.js:211:7) at addChunk (_stream_readable.js:263:12) at readableAddChunk (_stream_readable.js:250:11) at Socket.Readable.push (_stream_readable.js:208:10) at Pipe.onread (net.js:594:20) Any advice would be appreciated. Pickysaurus
Can you try going into "Games" on Vortex and click the little + on Skyrim, like soIs the "Path" shown in my screenshot similar to what you see? If it's blank click "Manually set location" and navigate to your Skyrim install folder.
FeMaidenVG
Skyrim is indeed in the specified folder which for me was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim . I'm going to try reinstalling Vortex tomorrow and hope that fixes it.
rmm200
Putting your game folder into Program Files has some real downsides.Beside chewing up space that most people can't afford (Your only disk?), there are serious permission issues.I recommend putting your Steam games ANYWHERE other than Program Files. If C: it is, C:/Games/Steam works really well.
