Mods won't download correctly?

So, I was downloading a couple mods manually (because that's the only option for these specific mods) when the last one didn't download correctly. In my download folder it said it was a 7zip, when it was just a single file that wouldn't open for any program. I tried switching browsers but that didn't work and now I'm stumped. Some mods download correctly but others don't, so I'm mighty confused. Any help would be appreciated.

I can confirm that mod downloads fine. I suspect it's being flagged by your AV due to containing an installer and other potentially harmful files. (Our Virus Total scans shows it's free from anything malicious).

Have you tried renaming the downloaded file to a 7z archive?

So in the case of New California, that would be "Fallout New California BETA 213 INSTALLER.7z"? Because that didn't work. Sorry if I'm doing it wrong, I'm new to this. I also tried just "Fallout New California.7z"

Do you have the 7Zip program installed? If not, google it, download it, and install it. Then you can extract the contents of Fallout New California to you desktop per the instructions on the Nexusmods page for New California.
