Question about mod informations

Just a question: where does Vortex fetch mod file informations from?

 

I've downloaded and installed a mod from moddb.com using the 'install from file' button.

The fields 'Author' 'Version' and 'Category' were populated but the mod file has no

informations about it, just a plugin and two archives. No fomod directory, no text files,

nothing at all.

 

So I'm wondering where that fields come from...

It's possible if the mod also exists on Nexus Mods the MD5 (a big string of letters and numbers that identifies the file) is the same as one of our files it'll get some basic data.

Yes, it makes sense. The very same mod is in Nexus, too.
