trappedslider
I hope this is the right place for this question, but I was wondering how long until a mod is deemed abandoned by it's original owner and able to be uploaded elsewhere? The mod in question is Rebuilt Sunshine Tidings by rdunlap, I have sent the author a message but I haven't gotten a reply yet. I was hoping to convert it for use on the xbox one. He was last active on here back in February.
MissingMeshTV
How long a mod has been "abandoned" for is totally irrelevant. Unless an author gives you clear, specific and documented permission to do so, you can't just take someone else's mod and upload it someplace else. If the author doesn't respond to your request, you're out of luck.
TheVampireDante
Indeed, there is no "abandoned" status unless a mod author has specified something to such effect on their own.Without permission you cannot make use of someones content. Looking at the permissions statement on that particular mod, the author is quite clear about their permissions requirements:

Arthmoor
Said concept is and always has been a lie.
FrankFamily
Well, copyright expires 70 years after the author's death (iirc & ianal), so I guess that's a valid answer. Edited May 17, 2019 by FrankFamily
