I cannot get my companion to go back to Riften so that Selana and I can finish the quest. Selana will not go with me until I send my companion home but the selection does not work NOR can I get my companion to WAIT either. Helllllp!!!

But I'm getting exceedingly desperate and I'll bite: how can I get the mod I'm trying to make for myself to work?

 

edit: saw your answer but I don't think you really understood my issue. I don't know what you mean about a "mix up" in my files, but if there was a mixup in my mapping the textures, or placing the nif or dds's properly in the game directory, the bow wouldn't have shown the custom textures in the preview window. I don't believe you retextured a unique weapon the model for which draws on the same mesh/ textures as non-unique weapons, which is what I'm trying to do. (And remember, I'm not creating a new item here.) Still - I gave you a kudo for the magnanimosity, as (imo) misguided as it is.

For some reason, I read a topic like this, and then picture a really stupid voice narrating the post... but hey, why not give him a chance. I gave up a search a very long time ago for a specific dialogue where when you enter your house, the person inside tells you they "hope you aren't planning any trouble". What is the name of the quest that this dialogue is in so I can delete it? Answer or gtfo.

Try the kill and then resurrect cheat or the resetai cheat on your companion that should make you be able to talk and send them back.

For some reason, I read a topic like this, and then picture a really stupid voice narrating the post... but hey, why not give him a chance. I gave up a search a very long time ago for a specific dialogue where when you enter your house, the person inside tells you they "hope you aren't planning any trouble". What is the name of the quest that this dialogue is in so I can delete it? Answer or gtfo.

 

 

 

This tends to happen when you trespass into someone's house and for some reason on the odd occasion if you enter your own house the housecarl may say it.

I find it happens if you have a weapon drawn or are sneaking

Calder the housecarl in Windhelm says it also.

I don't actually think its related to a quest though.

Well I sincerely hope that you do have all the answers, that would be quite the thing to see!

However, I do wonder at having one thread in which all the answers are contained. How will anyone be able to find them? That is kind of the point of having people post questions with the topic of their problem as the subject, so that other people looking help with a similar problem can search for and locate the solutions that has worked for others, is it not?

It is very generous of you to offer your expertise, I just want to make sure as many people as possible are able to benefit from it.

As far as I can tell everything you did seems correct.

There may have been a mixup with one of the files you edited possibly.

I would delete your bow and try remake it.

It happened to me once and yeah I remade it and it worked.

People can ask whatever they like so instead of writing a new topic and then waiting and hoping for someone to come along and read it I will make it as quick as possible to answer whatever they need.

It's more for the people who are unsure on what to ask or write its a quick easy topic that if you need to know even the smallest thing I will try my best to answer as quick and in detail as possible.

Now obviously I can't answer 100% of questions but I will try my hardest to.
