Can't even install Vortex

I don't even have an E: drive.

 

If I click ignore to skip the file, I get:

 

"The item 'Vortex.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut no longer works properly"

that sounds like a local config issue.

go to the file you downloaded in the directory you downloaded it, right click it, look at its properties make sure they're all fine.

or - delete it and redownload it. then try again.

You will need to give more information about exactly what happened.

Where did you install Vortex from? The Icon at the top of Nexusmods pages?

Did you wind up with an installer file?

What was it's name, date, and size?

Windows complains about a shortcut. What created the shortcut? Did Vortex actually install?

Did you ever have any other version of Vortex on your system?

Having the same problem.

 

Downloaded for the first time this evening. I downloaded from this site, Nexus Mods. I run the file and get the same error pointing to a drive letter I don't have on the system. G:\NexusMods\Vortex\Uninstall Vortex.exe

 

There's no more detail to provide.

 

Re-downloading and re-running doesn't work - same error.

Running as Administrator doesn't work - same error.

Adding the exception in Anti-Virus - same error.

 

This program is garbage. Not sure why the devs dropped NMM, as it worked a ton better than this.

Why do you think you need to install Vortex outside of your C:\ drive? It's quite a small app.

 

Are you both using the "Custom Location" version of the installer?

 

Please try with the regular installer.

 

Also, this topic is almost 2 years old, so it might be better for you to make your own thread.
