Grempington
I seriously think something's wrong with my PC..a it'll start its maximum fans at the windows login screen. Are there any ways to fi x this problem? If your CPU is starting to pack up on age, it's very possible that your heatsink has been clogged with dust. Same thing happened to me.Before I cleaned my heatsink from dust my CPU temperatures were between 70 and 95 degrees celcius (yikes!) Now my CPU temperatures fall between 40 and 60. As you can see, clearing the dust makes a HUGE difference.
Georgiegril
Are you sure it is your CPU and not your GPU? If you have NVidia drivers, if you used the Windows driver update or Steam's driver update to update your driver, it will have caused you to have corrupted driver files. One of the main problems for this has been problems with unregulated clock speeds, temps, fan control, etv. Check this out: EVGA guide to proper driver installation (it doesn't matter if your graphics card was EVGA or ATI or whatever, it works for any of the NVidia drivers. I followed the instructions exactly and have had no problems since.

Javalin
110 celcius as an idle temperature? I'm assuming your computer rebooted about a million times because of the overheating? Since the maximum overheat settings i believe is about 90celcius. A suggestion I would make to you, is ramp up the fan speeds by going through your BIOS. That also helps shave a bit off. Don't forget to give it a blast of compressed air every few weeks to clear the dust!
Brandy1123
If your CPU temp was that high, you might want to consider replacing the heat sink paste under your CPU heat snk. It can and will become dried/brittle/hard/an insulator. The process is very simple, but does require you to purchase a good quality (CPU) paste and not a generic heat trasnfer paste. Heat is a killer of electronics and is what skilled overclockers scrape their brains over trying to vent off. A quick google check or a place like NewEgg will give you several good products and the quick instructions on how to do it.
