Bring Back the Plugin Manager (Vortex)

Recommended Posts

I went to this link and it wasn't any help at all,

Its basically just a statement of exactly what my problem is.

I read something about log file, the post wasn't clear as to who/where i should send it too.

Another problem i noticed is, Vortex is not enabling the ESP plugins after a new mod is installed and enabled from the mod list, and there is no other way to enable plugins within Vortex.

I don't want to use Skyrim Launcher as it will make changes to the skyrim.ini and SkyrimPref.ini files. And I have already made my own personal changes to those files, and i don't want my changes to be undone by skyrim launcher.

Please work to fix this......

In the link Tannin42 sent you, he recommends checking to see if the Gamebryo Plugin Management extension had loaded and was enabled. Did you check?

If that doesn't work, either roll back to an earlier version of Vortex (0.17.xx or later) or install the latest stable version 0.18.6. Some people have reported the plugin tab is also missing in that version as well as in 0.18.5. I myself have not had this problem with either version.

I did check, and yes Gamebryo_Plugin_Management enabled.

but the Gamebryo_Plugin_Index-lock says Failed, with a load error that reads "Depends on gamebryo-plugin-management" (Screenshots provided)

I've checked the Vortex.log file and withing its content i see lines that says Gamebryo_Plugin_Management failed to load..... though it is enabled in the Vortex Extensions tab. By the looks of the log, it seems that the Gamebryo_Plugin_Index-lock has no issue but instead the problem is with Gamebryo_Plugin_Management which fails to load though it says enabled in the Vortex Extension Tab. As you will see in the screenshot, it says a file cannot be found,...but i went to the exact directory of said missing file and it is there. (Screenshots provided)

Said Missing File (Actually There)

am currently using version 0.18.6, of Vortex.... I didn't have this issue with version 0.18.5,

i would like to downgrade my vortex, but i remember reading reading that it isn't a good idea to downgrade from 0.18.6 to any lower versions. I don't know to consequences and am not willing to find out.

Hopefully Tannin42 Sees this post, if necessary i will upload my log files.

In regard to rolling back, see Tannin42's post in this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7681488-8-files-could-not-be-deployed-issue-after-updating/. His post refers to rolling back from v. 0.18.5. You'll have to decide if you want to risk it with v. 0.18.6. However, the change log shows mainly bug fixes and not any significant structural changes from 0.18.5 to 0.18.6.

Hopefully Tannin42 returns to this post, and gives me the Go-Ahead to rollback to version 0.18.5

thanks for the quick replies
