CSE window glitched

Recommended Posts

I finally got the CSE working. However the main window has some weird duping effect going on. All of the tabs at the top appear twice. You know the file, edit, etc.. And only the lower of these tabs work and they are half buried by the top tabs that don't work. Strangely, the CSE doesn't seem to mind... It's kind of annoying though. Any thoughts?

Ok... Bad to worse. I did a disc clean up and optimize of my ssd, and now the CSE has reverted to the basic CS. WTF Batman! How is that even possible? Anything anyone may advise is greatly appreciated.

The Construction Set Extender (CSE) is basically nothing else but an OBSE plugin (.dll) which will only be used in the Construction Set, not the game. Still, the "obse_loader.exe" (or similar means, depending on distribution type) have to be used to launch it, like the game, or it'll just be the Vanilla CS.

Don't know which way of launching the CSE you previously used, but check that everything about it is still working, it launches OBSE correctly and OBSE launches the CS (like using "obse_loader.exe -editor").

Never heard of your first issue though. Maybe some rendering issue limited to Windows 10? Some config tweaks possible to fix this special case perhaps? Does anyone else know?

It does fire up the obse as well. But the coda part isn't present in the tabs up top. I don't use it but it lets me know the cse isn't working, and I'm really looking at the basic cs. I have proper install procedural information, but it is vague on what to do first. If I want to do a reinstall (again), exactly what files need to be deleted.

Still no luck here. I am now wondering if it is possible to have too modern of packages. What I mean is the links on the cse page direct you to where to get the requirements, but the stuff on the other end has changed. Net framework 4.0 is now 4.9. And the visual studio stuff is now a full fledged visual studio package. So, what does that all mean for trying to install the cse? Edited by ReverendFelix

I don't know what that means. I installed the 2017 version as the readme tells you to do. If I remember correctly there is a working link on Loot's homepage since Loot also has 2017 as requirement if I remember correctly. I installed that one and CSE works for me but at the same time it also crashes a lot so maybe I'm not using the right version after all. When I searched on google I found a lot of different versions with different hashes, if anyone of them were more correct than the other I don't know.

Regarding .NET Framework the readme says 4.0+. Maybe "+" means that everything above 4.0 is okay. I don't remember which version I installed.
