Sirxon
Ok adopt a child and building your own home sounds good...but wtf...when will Bethesda fix the bugs...probably never...while DLC sounds good this DLC (upcoming) is worthless in my oppinion ... except the Hearthfire why Bethesda didnt make a new DLC simillar to Dawnguard with other features...i like to see the Bloodmoon again and my oppionion it was back then the golden age of TES series, i love Skyrim very much but this game becomes more like a Minecraft now or Sims.... gamefever
Hearthfire is to satisfy the consul players. And to borrow the great ideas from modders. I mean think about it, just how popular housing mods really are, and not one of those is on a consul. Consul players are stuck with Vanilla homes, and now they get to build a home just about anywhere. Hearthfire pretty much takes the best ideas already implemented by modders and makes it available to consul players.
Blu02
Well eventhough this DLC doesn't interest me, I definitely don't think it deserves this many negative threads about it all over the forum. If you don't like it, don't buy it. And it's not like Bethesda only has one person dealing with both DLC's and patches. It's most definitely a whole bunch of different teams of people working on improving the game on different areas. So I'm sure the making of this DLC have not affected their work on fixing bugs. Bethesda is just being Bethesda on that part.
SFBryan18
To be fair, no one except Bethesda knows if they got the idea from modders. They could have planned to add a mod like this a long time ago, since it does take awhile to make a dlc. I mean, there's almost a mod for everything, so of course people are going to say 'it's already been done', because they allowed it to already be done by allowing us to have the creation kit, but I think the idea for building a custom home is pretty common by almost everyone... no just modders. And personally, I think child adoption is just being lazy because they didn't want to create a reproduction system, but I can't imagine how they would create one so I guess it was their only option. I personally won't be adopting any children. If I want one, I'll use the CK to create one. You know, because the Dovahkiin is also a Master of genetic engineering. Haha. thompsonar
I don't see what all the negativity is about either. I mean it's not like they're not going to make any other DLCs. I mean the last one came out what a month or two ago, and now they're releasing another small one. What's the problem? I'm sure there will be at least one more large add on to come and probably a couple more like this one. My only question would have to do with the price. Doesn't seem like something I'd pay $20 for so I hope it's cheap. I'm sure there will be plenty more bugfixes coming as well.
Satorinu
I heavily approve of the DLC, I mean they REALLY should have credited the modders who already put forth a ton of effort into doing almost exactly what they've done in my opinion; afterall they have the *right* to and I'm sure any modder out there would actually be glad to see his/her name in the credits of the DLC :P but regardless, it seems like a rather nice addition of content, and the source information from it will likely prove quite valuable to modders. (we already have adopt a child mod they could have credited & took the scripts from just to save time, and just applied voices / improvements. We already have a build your own home from scratch anywhere mod in the process.. two actually I think, they could have done the same for. Mod author of one of the house-creation mods in particular is pleased to see this too, if I read correctly, and will revamp the DLC further when it's released, adding features of his mod to it if they aren't there or just building on it.) All in all though, it's one I'll enjoy & cross my fingers for modders to build upon heavily. I'm actually not positive how far the child-adoption thing goes for instance, they certainly better 'grow up' to teenage/adulthood in my opinion and work as a new unique voiced companion(s); but if not, a modder will eventually do it for them in all likelihood; and no doubt the house-building portion will be torn apart and redone to epicness. Any DLC is good DLC.. once the bugs are worked out so it can be remodeled and improved by the modders.. <.< OT: Bethesda owes a majority of it's success to the modding community, I honestly don't think I'd ever buy another ES game without it. So a random, thanks again modders and the Nexus community; saviors of Bethesda! A community worth toasting to. :D Edited August 29, 2012 by Satorinu
kevkiev
I'm looking at the positives. I hum'd and haw'd about getting Dawguard (but eventually did), just like I hum'd and haw'd about buying the FO3 & FONV DLCs (which I eventually did, except for one of the FO3 ones). I knew I wasn't going to buy this one by the time the trailer was 1/3 of the way through. Decision-making made easy!
redeyesandlonghair
Obviously for console gamers, since any PC gamer that wants a player home allready has like 5 castles, 8 cabins, and 22 underground lairs, and a bathhouse. The good thing about it is, I doubt it will interfere with our current mods like Dawnguard did. I give Bethesda +1 Monkey Chips for keeping the console gamers in mind... they miss out on so much by not having access to mods.
Sirxon
For console gamers true its a nice gesture from Bethesda.But...with each update/patch they release all players came across a new and irritating bugs...Like:Throat Of The World bug for example:When Paarthurnax teaches you the Fire Breath (for me its the last word) the word doesnt appear on the wall...and some VL bugs...etc etc... SFBryan18
Actually, even though there are many mods for PC like this dlc, I never trusted any of them so I'm glad there will be an official house builder for the game. I will enjoy it on PC.
