charwo
I am wondering if the Trouble on the Homefront quest can be safely activated before completing Waters of Life. I have no intention of doing Waters of Life until I've done absolutely everything, for story and roleplaying. However, the burr in this is that I can't recruit Butch until Trouble on the Homefront. Being on Scientific Pursuits, I want to activate the quest before recusing James. I am wondering if there is a mod for this, and if not this can be safely mechanically, before and after the quest, and what what would be an appropriate time and trigger to roleplay it out in a plausible way. I checked the Fallout wiki, and I get the feeling I am asking for menucia that the wiki is not going to give me on the issue. Thank you.
BlackRampage
According to the wiki, the "Trouble on the Homefront" quest will only be activated after actually completing the "Waters of Live" quest, so you have no choice.
charwo
I can activate it by quest command. Question is, will it make the game buggy and crashey or nonsensical.
M48A5
Just a suggestion, make a save before you use the console command, go through the quest. If it caused a problem, you can just go back to the save before the quest.
