scientision
Marrying a character basically robotizes them. I’ve been thinking about ways to undo that. Although I will be starting with one character, it would be preferable to design a more abstracted framework. That way it could be applied to other characters, mostly only changing data. There is a whole shopping list of features that could be included in a mod, but my focus here is gathering ideas and opinions on personality. Mechanically speaking I’ll be starting with preferences, what things she does and doesn’t like. These numbers can then inform and influence all sorts of decisions and behaviors. For smaller things like does she prefer horker meat over say venison can probably be simply rolled. But for the larger things she seems like she would have at least a few strong opinions. Some of which would likely cross paths with some decisions the character makes in game. The biggest example is which side does she favor in the civil war? I have yet to comb though the data to ferret out all her lines but I don’t recall that being a subject specify mentioned. She obviously has a strong Nordic identity, but so do the people fighting on both sides. Does she sympathize more with the stormcloaks, follow the leaning of the yarl or is she more ambulant wishing for it to be resolved quickly to reduce the bloodshed? In short I would like to know what or who you think she would like/dislike and why. Be they Quests, characters, items, locations or whatever. StayFrosty05
Ysolda: 1/ Quite open minded considering her attitude towards Khajiits. 2/ Generous and trusting....she did give the wedding band to the Dragonborn without up front payment, plus doesn't loose it if he doesn't retrieve or pay for it. 3/ Romantic....her reaction to the Witchmist Hollow story...surrounded by Fireflys, etc... 5/ A little naive, but believes in herself and those around her. 6/ Wouldn't keep her opinions to herself, she would speak up, but she doesn't strike me as confrontational, more of a discusser. 7/ Quite stately and lady like compared the company she is in. 8/ Would be quite the homemaker and a good mother....though that would be balanced with her still wanting a career. 9/ Helpful....I could imagine her being the local 'go to' if you need an ear or a friend. 10/ I think she is more interested in just seeing an end to the war over supporting anyone in particular. 11/ Don't ask me why, but I see her food like more so being things like Venison and Rabbit Stews. 12/ I don't think she would approve of the TG or DB....might be a little shy of the Mages College (being a Nord)....probably quite supportive of the Companions as she has been raised in the town in which they reside and there would be a lot of propaganda and encouragement within the town to see the Companions as something a strong man or woman warrior should aspire to....As for the bards college, I think that would appeal to her. 13/ As for quests, anything heroic would appeal to her...the great savior of good common folk....I believe taking down Alduin would be something she would find very admirable...Ysolda is not a deep thinker, she would not understand the Greybeards perspective on the whole deal, but she does strike me as having a big heart. I guess it's pretty obvious that I happen to like Ysolda, I think she is a sweetheart....And as a woman myself, this is my own female perspective of her....I do hope it has helped. I would say that she would approve of the Theives Guild so long as it suited her. She does, after all, hire a criminal to harvest Sleeping Tree sap. Shes also almost calloused and dissmissive when you tell her said criminal is dead.

Lachdonin
For me it started when i stumbled upon the Sleeping Tree in the tundra. Theres a cave nearby, with a dead Nord in it who has a note from Ysolda saying, to the effect "I know what you did, get me this sap or i'll turn you in". gsmanners
The first thing to do is to ask yourself why you think she's more like a robot after marriage. To me, she seems like a robot as is, but that's probably just me. It could be something as simple as where you generally tend to find her. Maybe this is something a simple patrol AI package would fix.
