Do Conspirisy theories have any Truth to them?

So I've been having a bit of a gander about the Illuminati that a lot of vids on You Tube about them. And I remember watching vids from Barry Smith a number of years ago about the new world order that seems to be gearing up and on our doorstep.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL855750DE96900363

http://www.illuminati-order.org/

http://illuminati.org.nz/

In these vids, and webs one can see something is definately gearing up, and why does the illuminati have a New Zealand website specific for New Zealand? I mean c'mon guys, is Keys a illumanti agent working to bring down my country , it certainly seems that way with his idiotic bad decisions that cost the country millions it cannot afford.

And whats up with Amnerica? The land of free? Certainly doesn't look that way when collecting rain water is illegal as is growing a tomato - how can you guys sit there and let your govt and state rob you of these basic human rights.

My view? I believe it. Cause well people can say, oh anyone can make a vid or website and mess with everyone, but, we all know also that the best way to hide something is putting it in a captain obvious spot where it can be seen.

And another thing to think about, whats with those Camps with barbed wire and furnaces being installed all accross america? It's the stuff of Hitler by what I've seen on you tube. Just like those Death camps hitler created for the millions of jews he burnt alive, gassed and did awful experiements on.

http://www.libertysentry.com/2011/12/07/government-activating-fema-camps-across-u-s/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=government-activating-fema-camps-across-u-s

This is a lot of info to watch and see but it's worth looking at. As for fox news being the crazy news, it goes back to propaganda, whats the best way to get people used to something new before it's introduced? Stick it in the news and media. Over time people do accept it. Also comes back down to a good hidey spot to put something on the crazy news channel so people will automaticly say "oh that crazy talk"

Whitch leads me to think, all these movies the last few years about the end of the world, could there possibly be some propaganderous motive for these.?

But yes, the most shocking vid I thought was the Illuminati training vid, and then coupled with song and backed up with arrests over growing veges and using rain water and then you look at the news about how there is food shortages and how in 50 years there will be no fish left in the oceans to eat. And you start to think really, why do this if not to find some excuse for the govt to drag people off to those fema camps and into the furnaces there. It's no secret that all govts hide what they do with "national security" but with the cost of food rising and the fact that non contimated water is begining to be hard to find, I mean if the cost of food was too much, wouldn't people want to grow a vege garden on there lawn to feed themselves and their family and to not starve?

Just something to talk about anyway, does anyone have any real plans for the future since the cost of food is rising and in nz it's said to soar from next year.

edit: So I got into the illuminati website for visiters section to take a peek at what they say, I took some screenies, at first I thought well dang, this looks good but then I started to think about it, there is millions of people in the world today, if they are saying "food shortages" and making my winz benefit hard to make ends meet costs right now how in the heck are they going to suddenly archeive all of their goals without killing millions of us to make a sustainable planet for living.

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj609/Jahiza/13aee4cf.jpg

and the big question is why did it link to this govt site:

http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj609/Jahiza/e32f2656.jpg

You know the more I research and look at this group the more I see how they are trying to convince people using what seems at first like a good thing but when you get down thinking and piece together what it would take to do I really think they planning to kill most. And heck they even have a statue erected already in america with a plaque reading keep the worlds population at 5 million.

And we're far more than 5 million on this planet now, so big important question, who's gonna live and who's gonna cark it. And is it why these Fema camps have been made and why the national security have made new firms to track people in groups such as religious orders and occupy movement. Makes me think well gess didn't I read this somewhere and watch vids of Barry smith telling it was gonna happen.

Just an illuminati conspiracy? Not likely. Or…

Pretty much anything and everything that has occurred since WW2 and certainly since Kennedy’s assassination is a cover up, a conspiracy or a hoax (according to someone), so maybe all of them were orchestrated by the Illuminati?

Pearl Harbour – cover up

Hiroshima/Nagasaki – cover up

Adolf Hitler – cover up

Outlaw of Marijuana - conspiracy

John Kennedy – cover up/conspiracy

Robert Kennedy – conspiracy

Apollo moon landings – hoax/cover up

Russian/China Moon landing – cover up

Area 51 & Extraterrestrials – cover up/conspiracy

Cure for Cancer – cover up/conspiracy

New World Order – conspiracy

Central Banking system – conspiracy

Electronic Banking - conspiracy

Electric Cars – cover up/conspiracy

Alternative fuels – cover up/conspiracy

“Peak” oil - conspiracy

Princess Diana – cover up/conspiracy

President Clinton – conspiracy

Vaccinations – cover up/conspiracy

Water fluoridation – conspiracy

Medicine Industry - conspiracy

Sept 11 – cover up conspiracy

“The Plan” - conspiracy

Change from analogue to digital TV - conspiracy

HAARP – conspiracy/cover up

Hurricane Katrina and Pakistani floods – conspiracy/cover up

Mars Probes - hoax

There are probably a few hundred (thousand) more, but that’s all I could think of in a few minutes.

The only conspiracy I subscribe to is the one that, for some insidious reason, I have been excluded as a member of the Illuminati and thus from all of the conspiracies or cover ups that exist and thereby I am one of the very few people in the entire world (probably less than 200 of us by now) who is not being paid to keep a secret or my mouth shut about some conspiracy or cover up or hoax.

Some advice? If you have to go to youtube and watch videos, stick with the ones about cat antics or laughing babies or something equally silly and entertaining. The individuals with agendas, disorders and just plain nutbars posting their doom, gloom and disaster theories will just make you depressed.

Lastly, stand by – shortly someone will post I actually am a member of the Illuminati and this post is really part of the conspiracy to convince people not to investigate the Illuminati and their activities. Sad that some individuals just need to believe that they are either a) getting screwed over by someone or b) they are way smarter than everyone or a) and b) both.

You know this exactly what I expected to hear from people you know why? It's because it was wrote in a book people would not listen.

So yeah, good luck surviving the food shortages and the other woes said to happen.

As soon as you start applying logic to these theories they tend to fall apart, not trusting authority is healthy, dismissing logic and evidence in favour of nonsensical fantasies is not.

Whenever this topic comes up with people I know I bring this up and how conspiricies have truth but twisted that truth.

Let's ban dihydrogen monoxide: Why?

It kills hundreds (perhaps thousands) each year.

Causes billions in properity damage.

A major component of acid rain

Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes tissue damage.

Used as a coolant in nuclear power plants.

Used as a spray on fire suppressant or retardant.

Used as an additive to baby foods and forumlas.

Now everything I said is completely true and I've even convinced more than one friend to want to ban dihydrogen monoxide. I did leave out one very important piece of information. Dihydrogen monoxide can also be called, DHMO H2O1, or H2O, or by the common name water. Water does kill, floods drownings etc. Flooding causes termendous amount of properity damage each year. Without water you wouldn't have acid rain. Frostbite. It is used to cool nuclear reactors, put out fires and we do put it in baby foods.

This is a good example of twisting a truth to fit your view. Does it mean the conspiricy as a whole is truthful, probably not. But individual arguements are probably twisted truths.

As soon as you start applying logic to these theories they tend to fall apart, not trusting authority is healthy, dismissing logic and evidence in favour of nonsensical fantasies is not.

It's usually mostly this.

But at its root all conspiracies are about the same thing... Trying to establish a reasonable belief as to what happened in an event. For most people, they work based on the facts offered to them from an authority or eye-witness and when there are gaps or omissions in information they usually ignore them and just go on with their lives. For those who are more likely to accept conspiracy theories, or who have a deep distrust for that authority, they look at any gaps or omissions as being either intentional, or as evidence of everything being suspect. But the reason why it is so prevalent is due to two reasons:

The first is that there is almost no such thing as an event which would be independently reported by dozens of people in the same exact way. There will always be people who get the series of events wrong, misidentify individuals, or be mistaken about certain facts. Even when you have video footage, not all of that footage is always immediately clear, and in the case of national reporting it may be edited dozens of times or had sections chopped out, leading to numerous questions as to why it was edited, what wasn't shown, ect, ect... even when most of it was done for practicality, runtime, or issues regarding graphic violence. But since there is some aspect which is missing, conspiracies fly.

The second is that once a conspiracy starts and spreads, you can't put it to rest... EVER. Not only does a conspiracy often take on a broad range of variants ranging from the equally probable to outright impossible, but that all variants tend to be spread with the same amount of conviction and can even become stronger in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary (case in point flat-earthers, hollow-earthers). You also can't tell them to stop with their claims, or just kill them since then you are only validating their beliefs by establishing yourself as someone who is part of the conspiracy or who is trying to silence the truth. In short, there is no explanation which is good enough for them, and once started a conspiracy tends to live for as long as it continues to be spoken by believers.

Both of these issues become larger simply because of the rate that information spreads, so rather than a crazy person just standing on a soap box on the street until told to move, they can go to the internet and have millions of other people who will not only hear the idea, but usually resonate with it and add their own views. There were likely conspiracies in ancient times too, just that the knowledge base was small enough to limit claims to either things that would get you put in prison, killed, or ostracized and beaten for being a lunatic.

Some conspiracies probably have a little truth to them, but most of that truth tends to get distorted or dropped completely in favor of aspects which are more sensationalist... Like aliens, secret societies, or any other group which is large enough to throw darts at.

And some will suspect everything. Some people just can't seem to trust any authority, and always seem to seek to rationalise this by "proving a conspiracy" Unfortunately, these people tend to band together with other mentally ill/paranoid people, resulting in their ability to prey on those gullible enough to believe whatever an organisation says. Personal experience means I tend to take a dim view of conspiracy theories; close experience with the US military( quite a few good friends being ex-service) and being raised by a psychologist means I tend see them as needlessly paranoid. I'm sure cover-ups and conspiracies do exist, but the idea of some sort of underground cult working together for over a century to enslave us makes no logical sense to me. With the resources that sort of organisation would have, combined with it's purported scale, they would be able to simply take over by force, and would have had atleast 50 excellent oppertunities to do so in the past 100 years, such as during the weak days post WW-II.

What's more-if they truly are some vast, evil conspiracy that can wipe out a city as a coverup-then how come hundreds of mental hospital inmates claim every year to have uncovered it's secrets? if they could bring down nazi Germany or cause a hurricane in the gulf, they could surely protect their deep secrets from a few paranoid schizophrenics, or make said madmen vanish without a trace before they could report? And that's not mentioning the shear ludicrousness of some of these theories, such as that the planet's actually flat(find a long enough straight stretch of road-the curvature of the earth is clearly visible) or that America is ruled by hyper advanced reptiloid aliens(if they were so advanced they wouldn't need to be elected)

well, you guys can believe what you want that is your choice, I still think if these thoughts I have typed out and websites and vids linked ( if people bothered to watch them all ) why is america making it illegal to collect and use rainwater and grow a vege garden.

America is supposed to be the land of the free. What's "free" about being arrested and charged for growing a vege garden or using the rain water to water your garden?

Lol, seems to me you're slowly losing your freedom. Since when was growing a vege garden or collecting and using rainwater a threat to national security?

I lfacepalm at you who are so blind to losing your freedom and refuse to see what is in front of you.

Don't you understand that whoever controls food controls people?

You can live without modern day things but you cannot live without food and water.

And yet this has become illegal in America.

As for your arguement about protecting secrets from a few mentally ill, lol god gives visions and prophesy some of whitch are becoming true in this present day. Man cannot prevent god from giving people knowledge of their plans. Fact is, if you place what goes on today with prophacy and back it up with the visions and dreams people are getting whether they want it or not, it is happening.

And I wouldn't write it off, a diversion in the USA govt has a facility that uses people who have visions as part of their inteligence to try to see the future things before they happen with regards to america's enemys.

If the usa govt has faith in people who have visions and paranormal ways of getting knowledge I would not be so quick to laugh about it.

Quote from naturalnews.com

" You may not be aware of this, but many Western states, including Utah, Washington and Colorado, have long outlawed individuals from collecting rainwater on their own properties because, according to officials, that rain belongs to someone else."

I think you can safely assume that "someone else" just happens to be a company that makes money out of distributing water. Not a conspirisy as such, just vested interest.

Going back on topic, based on the laws of average, a small percentage of conspirisy theories, may well have some basis in truth. However, unless you are part of the cover-up/misinformation agenda, there is no way of knowing which ones. I generally disregard conspirisy theories, though once in awhile, there seems a certain plausiblity to some of them.
