iNSPiREDS
Went on summer vacations and got back the other day. As soon as I fired up Steam, it updated the game to the latest version.Seems that I cannot mine anything. Tried with different veins. I press E and see the mining animation but nothing is actually mined and the animation doesn't stop.I even thought it could be some incompatibility with a mod called Faster Mining which I installed shortly before leaving (could be that it wasn't compatible with the latest game version), but the problem persists after uninstalling it.Anyone else experienced this? Georgiegril
My ideas: 1. revert to an earlier save.2. Verify cache file through steam.3. try crafting bug workarounds, like hitting it with your sword, interrupting an NPC when they are mining the same vein, etc.

Hoamaii
@ iNSPIREDS: It happenend a few times in my game too, but usually it only takes to exit the cave (or cell) and reenter to fix the bug. You could also try a game reset - go into a no -respawning cell, Breezehome or Jorrvaskr, and sleep for 31 days (30 days is how long it takes to reset all cells). If that doesn't work, try reloading an older save from when you did not have the problem, see if you have it now. If you still have it, it may be a sign that one of your mod (even uninstalled) may have left a loose script in your saves. Chances are this Faster Mining mod you had may have scripts files if it changes animations...
gamefever
Dude, I hope you read this post again. Readsons your game isn't working from being away over a 3 month stretch. It's updated! You got mods that are out of date. Your version of SKSE is out dated, SkriptDragon is outdated. You have popular mods from then that are not going to work with 1.7.7It could be that you need to download a hefty chunck of your mod list just to get Skyrim modded to work again. TipsDont reinstallLook at each mod in your mods list that makes changes to the game.Such as Weather, Overhauls, Combat, KILL MOVE MODS, NPC MAKEOVERS, dietary immersion mods, vampire/werewolf mods, and animtion overhaul mods like FNIS. Look at all mods that do anything other than add an armor (unless its a scripted armor) to the game.My recamendation to playing a stable game fast is cut every mod out that isn't up to date. Cut out all NPC altering mods that have not speciffically been updated to 1.7.7pretty much be aggressive about cutting way back Now I'd be willing to bet my last cig tonight that you have a Killmove mod that is out of date with 1.7.7 such as Advanced Killmoves. My second guess would be FNIS. I'm guessing those becuase you stated animations problems and I ran into the same thing. Test also can you cast spells. PS I cannot get Better Followers to work with 1.7.7 for the life of me and I like that mod but I want to play more than crash so I had to remove it from my game. You will have favorite mods like that, that have not been updated much less had the author even stop in to say hey guys my mod isnt working with some set ups. You'll have to cut them out to play. PPS so you still want to uninstall. Well pro tip backup your base game BSA files ie Skyrim.bsa is 1.2Gig I dont know about you but I hate waiting 4 to 8 hours to download Skyrim. Back them up. Uninstall the whole folder to the recycle bin manually. Then delete local content vai Steam. Run a cleaner program. Reinstall through Steam...Pause...Place back the BSA files...DO NOT HIT RESUME...Go to properties and Verify Cache...Fresh install in 30 minutes or less I got mine down to like 5 minutes. After you've got all the updated mods you need to consider Defragging your hard disk. Heavy mod use will frag that up and slow your game down if you don't. Hoamaii
@ iNSPIREDS: Oh yeah, Gamefever is right, I should have thought of that!.. Check your mods' updates first - one quick way to deal with this is to uncheck all mods (except armors, weapons and skin textures - they never seem to ba affected by game updates in my experience) and see if that does the trick... @ Gamefever: I don't know what Better Followers does exactly, but in case you are interested, I have been using Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT) for several months and some 50 levels - since April or May I think, and through several patches. The author always keeps it up to date and it is really one of the best followers mods around I think. Perhaps, if you haven't already, you should check it out. Cheers from Paris, guys! :)
iNSPiREDS
Sorry I took my time to reply. I did indeed read your post too late. However, I must say I did everything as suggested above: updated SKSE and all mods on my NMM list, tried Fast Traveling somewhere and waiting 31 days, I don't use Advanced Killmoves, to no avail.I did also forget to mention a pretty important thing! It sounds beyond ridiculous but it's true. Right before I went on vacation, I accidentally deleted my "My Documents" folder, meaning all the saves were lost.I used a data recovery software to try to recover my lost saves. I was only able to recover like half of them, some of which were simply corrupted.I did manage to find a somewhat recent one (just a couple hours old) that was working and stuck with it. After encountering some bugs such as the one mentioned above, one regarding a simple quest which required me to recover the Helm of Winterhelm for the Jarl (quest wouldn't move forward after I would recover it from the chest), I eventually started getting the bloated save file bug.And that is pretty much check mate for me.So instead of pointing fingers at this or that mod, I just decided to start anew and be more cautious next time.Either way, just thought I should inform you. Thank you all who tried to help. :)
